I'm not a big video game fan, nor am I a fan of war. But the anger over this issue is stupid. What's the difference between 'playing' war via videogame and 'playing' war with plastic army men?

The anger is not over the existence of war video games in general but over the realistic approach taken in this particular one. It's about keeping honour with those who died only recently at the Battle for Fallujah. It's quite normal to be offended if you feel the cause that a loved one died for is being trivialised. Personally I feel those who shout the loudest either side of this kind of issue are usually hypocrites anyway.

Excellent point, duckie!

I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

It seems to me we live in a world governed by people who see no problem sending troops off into real wars but who are shocked and disgusted by computer game representations of the same thing. I know which one of the two I'd choose to keep.
