DEVO have announced the release of their first studio album since 1990, scheduled to come out next fall.

The as-yet untitled record will be the band’s first since 'Smooth Noodle Maps', and follows the 2007 single 'Watch Us Work It', their first new song in 18 years.

The five-piece are also due to appear at SXSW this year, including a one-night-only concert at the Austin Music Hall on March 20.

On May 6 they will perform their 1978 debut album 'Q: Are We Not Men, We Are Devo!' in its entirety at London's Kentish Town Forum.

The tour dates are as follows:

Dallas, TX Palladium Ballroom (March 18)
Austin, TX Austin Music Hall (20)
London, UK Kentish Town Forum (May 6)
Somerset, UK Butlins Holiday Centre (8)

Prefix Magazine - Devo to Release New Album In Brave New Fully Devolved World.

Devo, who have been touring on and off for the last decade or so, are releasing a new album this fall. Technically, they haven't been relying totally on back catalog during this time, as 2007's "Watch Us Work It" was much more successful than, say, the Pixies' "Bam Thwok."

Good news, I hope they will come to Holland this time. Love them.

No kidding...with a new album I expected the band might become a priority for them again.

Nothing is ever something.

It is a bit sporadic isn't it. Let's hope there'll be more dates announced when the album comes out.

I am going to the London gig, sure it is a 370mile around trip, but still worth every penny and every mile because it is DEVO.

I saw them last time they played in the UK and was the best gig I have ever been to, and I am counting down the days until I see them again.

Happy, happy, happy!

That IS the worst tour schedule I've ever seen.

That ain't a tour, that's a measly four shows.

:(

But thanks for the thread. Maybe I wouldn't be so grumpy if there was a show anywhere near me.

And where's Denis?

Happy hearts fall from my shaking hands
