I just saw this:

a ranking of the top 10 grunges songs of all time. My vote has to go to Smells Like Teen Spirit. Not necesarilly my favorite but it had the greatest influence. Rate your favorite or favorites here.
(side thought, I wonder if bringing the Cheerleaders into The Smells Like Teen Spirit video has anythig to do with Kim Deal's past)

I still wear my flannel shirts around my house, because nothing beats a good worn out flannel shirt. I still have my
denim jacket, too. I recently acquired some new converse shoes, but I owned a pair years ago when I was in high school.
kfs and I go way back and we have some great memories. We reminince from time to time about "old times." :)

I don't really have a favorite grunge song but I used to like "grunge fashion."
I recently saw an old pic of me wearing a plaid flannel shirt. It's kinda funny, I'll try to find it tonight. |

My favorite grunge song is Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My". As far as I know it's also the first grunge song ever recorded.

I think Grunge was first a Northwest thing, but a lot of similar artists around the country with similar sound and style like Dinosaur Jr. and Bob Mould, gained more popular sucess at the same time. So I think they are definately associated with Grunge. |

Does Sugar's Copper Blue count as grunge? If it does, that's my fave album (and Beaster). The Act We Act, A Good Idea and Fortune Teller are brilliant songs. |

I can't say that I have a favorite, but this brings back memories from high school. Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Nirvana...too many songs to pick just one. Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains are two of my favorite bands.

Yeah, Gish is great, and Dirt is also pretty top hole. Bleach is another grungy treat. I actaully haven't hear any of their albums, but I love this:

Yeah, they are from Mass. Are you fan of theirs? I think I remember hearing J. Mascis thought the Pixies were a pop band. |

I think they kind of fit the mold of Grunge, but they weren't from the region, Wikipedia calls them "Alternative". |

I loved Nevermind and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" when I was a teenager. But I don't know if the day will ever come for the rest of my life when I am happy to hear "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on the radio. Is it possible to get permenantly sick of something forever and never get over your sickness of it?
I really liked Alice in Chains "Dirt," although the WHOLE album is pretty stifling in its depression. But hey, that was perfect for us angsty teenagers back then.
