I'm only speaking for myself, though others here on the forum might agree with what I have to say.

I'm sure you're a very interesting person. You're very passionate about what you believe in. The only problem is: I don't know what that is. You almost never fully type out your ideas; it's all links. Unless it's a link to a FB interview or a video of FB, I don't click on it. The same goes for re-printed stories- I don't even skim them.

If you have something to say, or some message you want to get across, say it yourself. Otherwise most of us, or at least I, will not get it.

When I have something to say or some argument I want to make, it would be easier for me to post a link to an old Ayn Rand essay, but that takes up too much of the readers time, and it's cheating.

This is just something to think about. It's a free country; do what you want.

Copy and paste ya'll!

Gotta Love Them OC Wingnuts

Here's a little gem I found in the letter section of the OC Weekly, Orange County's left-leaning alternative weekly news magazine. This wingnut must have graduated from the Ann Coulter school of political rhetoric:

Re: Rebecca Schoenkopf’s “Thank God for That Tax Cut!” [Sept. 9]: You know what’s worse than you liberals hating the president? It’s terrorists. And you liberals who hate the president are just as bad as terrorists. You two get along so well. And you know what? When are you liberals going to start blaming this whole catastrophe on the Category 5 hurricane that struck that land, huh? And why didn’t those people who died act on the warning to get out? No, you know what, they wanted to ride the wave out, they just wanted to ride it out. Well, they rode it straight to their deaths. So maybe next time all you fuckin’ liberals will start blaming who’s really to blame here. Those people had a warning, Rebecca, and they did not get out, you fuckin’ dumb ass! I can’t believe you would ruin your 10-year anniversary on filthy print like this, you fuckin’ terrorist! Rebecca Schoenkopf, you are nothing but a terrorist, you fuckin’ cunt!

Wow Christopher. Your comparison of liberals to terrorists is so fresh! I don't think I've ever heard that before. Your misogynistic attack on Miss Schoenkopf would be admired by all knuckle-dragging barbarians across our fair county. I also appreciated your "blame the victim" style assault on the casualties of Hurricane Katrina. I always thought they had a death wish. Why else would those poor people with no means of transportation or cash choose to ride out the storm?

One question for you Christopher . . . why do you hate freedom?

Here's Rebecca Schoenkopf's column which tipped Christopher over the edge. Schoenkopf writes the Commie Girl column and can also be found at Commie Girl Collective. As much as I detest the writings of Michelle Malkin and other right-wing psycho hose beasts, I would never resort to using sexist epithets. Their insane views speak for themselves.

Crisis In Newport Beach!

Sea Lions Attack Rich People:

In a scene that has played out up and down the West Coast, the whiskered creatures are charming tourists but exasperating local officials, who are studying a far-flung set of strategies to thwart the federally protected mammals. On Wednesday, the Newport Beach Harbor Commission debated the situation, which has taken on added urgency since 18 sea lions piled onto a 37-foot sailboat and sank it over Labor Day weekend. The sheriff's Harbor Patrol has also been inundated with noise complaints. "A barking dog doesn't hold a candle to this. It's like 40 barking dogs — in surround sound," grumbled Balboa Peninsula resident Darci Schriber.

Well, what do you expect when you live on the coast and invade their natural habitat?

City workers and criminals serving community service terms formed 24-hour sea lion patrols, armed with giant squirt guns to scare off the lumbering intruders. Elsewhere along the Pacific coast, sea lions have attacked swimmers, chomped bodyboards and even yanked people off boats.

Sea lions of the world unite! Only you can destroy the ruling class by sinking their yachts and polluting the sonic space surrounding their mansions!

I will not retract those statements.

U.S. citizens that so eagerly wish their country would kill other people because those people wear burka's, need a severe dose of reality. Much (not all) of Orange county is western society at it's ugliest.

I will not apologize. Many of those brainwashed people turn my stomach.

Although the ladies are quite hot when they're not speaking.

But I'd rather comment on Charlie Sheen's dad. I think Denise Richards is insane and I believe the tabloid stories that she was a paid prostitute before she became a Bond girl. Can't we discuss Hollywood gossip instead?

Ok. Comments:

This clip ran on a Dutch station called Zembla. Zembla is a fictional country created by my favorite writer in the whole world. Dutch is a language spoken by my favorite singer on one of the songs on his new album. Is there a connection between the two? No. Why? Because Occam's razor almost always applies to a situation. While I think it's necessary to question every damn thing the Bushies say, I find it easy to believe the "conventional story" that terrorists flew planes into buildings that eventually fell down.

okay let's start over. Here it is again. http://youtube.com/watch?v=y2E65WTxd1U Please view and leave a relatively detailed opinion of what you feel is going on in this clip. Again, we have a supposed demolitions expert giving his professional opinion on the falling of a building he does not associate with the WTC. And maybe you can comment on if it looks like a demolition to you.

That "September 9 2001" in the subtitle is a mistake. I was looking at that going WTF? It caught fire on the 11th. The theory is that they orchestrated everything with the twin towers coming down from this building, then blew it up when they finished. It's been likened to committing a murder then burning the house down. This is just speculation though and that's worth about two cents. The main thing is that the building was demolished and not even mentioned in the commision report.

I've read that insider trading and Enron scandal evidence went out with this building as well.

I'm not the Swimmer by the way. That dude wanted me to join his posse when I first got here (because my intention was to be a wise ass) but then I started to like you silly freaks. Except Darwin and Dallas.. I found myself falling in love with them over time.

Bye now.

KoK,

I watched the clip. Though I know nothing about architecture, I can definitely tell that the building imploded, and that the bottom goes first. What I find really amazing is that on September 9, the building caught fire and nobody extinguished it. (what did that do in terms of the plan, though? did it weaken the infrastructure? or does that piece of evidence just attest to how they didn't want the building to last?) Danny Jawenko couldn't offer any explanation other than that 30 or 40 guys planned it out so that columns would blow up and the rest would cave in afterwards.

It makes sense to blow this building up on September 11, too. In keeping with the rest of the conspiracy theory, no one would notice if this building - a block away - blew up, and if anyone did, they'd just assume it was part of the 9/11 attacks. It's not like other (more tragic) events weren't on the mind of the general public (certainly a distraction), and the fact that one guy owned the lease of the three buildings that were blown up and did not own the lease of any of the surrounding buildings that were not blown up is definitely eerie.

I did not know about WTC7. I knew about the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a 4th plane that landed in a field somewhere in Pennsylvania (what about that photograph, KoK? Do you believe it's authentic?) because the actual pilot aimed the plane downward before the hijackers got to do anything or something like that.

I am not a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. I think that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Usama and members of the Taliban were responsible for 9/11.

I do, however, think it's very possible that a few people knew it was going to happen before it happened, and didn't tell anyone.

Keep in mind I am nowhere near as well-researched on this topic as KoK is.

Okay thanks awestruck i posted everything I could think of in my 9/11 thread. I've had different things in my sig.

If you are interested in researching further this may be as good a place as any to start. http://911blogger.com/dailynews

I would recommend watching a few of the documentaries that cover the subject in full detail. You should be able to find links to them on that site. , 911 mysteries, Terrorstorm, Zeitgeist( My friend stated that the Smashing pumpkins named their new album Zeitgeist so people would find this movie when they google their videos), Loosechange is decent as an overview but there is a new version coming out that is supposed to be like an entirely new documentary. I believe Mark Cuban is working to help get it released in theaters if they can get that pulled off. Anyway, these are a few of the standouts. After that you may want a book or two.

This is new and may be well worth your time. San Francisco AIA, Architect Richard Gage - How The Towers Fell - http://blip.tv/file/306082/

This is all understood and appreciated. I have started my own threads and they not only get locked but deleted as well. Soem members right off the bat attack me and it goes downhill from there. Then I'm the bad guy because I have a harder slap shot.

The Iran thread was going along fairly nicely and it got deleted. Not only that I was in the middle of copying and pasting my response and had it all backed up with Youtube links. When I pressed post it refused it. That sent a message to me that relevant or controversial topics will not be tolerated on the board. I thought that was pretty fucking weak.

Okay thanks to SpeddyM and awestruck for giving the clip a look. That totals two. I appreciate it. I believe unless someone else wants to chime in?

I consider a lot of what KOK posts to be pollution. But like I've told him before, if he keeps it specifically to his own threads, what do I care? It's not like he's filling threads in the FB or Pixies sections with 9/11 crap. So, as much as it pains me to stick up for someone who's so full of it, he's not out of line.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

Brian, I didn't read your lengthy rant. Could you instead link to a youtube clip of you saying all of that?

I, again, support what KoK is doing. If you want to read his thread and watch his clips, you will. If you don't, you probably know enough to not open his threads in the first place. I never find the forum clogged or difficult to manage (I don't think there are enough users, or mroe specifically, thread starters). Furthermore, I have watched some of the clips he has posted and it has really given me pause.

If we're going to have heated debates attacking the posting style and/or intelligence of certain boarders, then everyone should be in the line of fire, and we could all air our grievances about each other in an open and honest way. Some of you are just plain annoying and/or assholes. But I'm far too nice to ever say so.

Monarch of Karoake (not my king),

I beleive that most people here don't agree or disagree with your politics/intersts - that isn't the point. The point is that you blanket-post articles with zero personal opinion/description. If i wanted to read articles, i would seek out articles that interest me. I appreciate being turned onto a good article/website, but the reason i appreciate it is because the recomender puts it through their filter. For example, let's say i was turning someone onto the Freakonomics Blog (one of my favorite websites). I would say:

Hey Dean, check out the Freakonomics blog. They put a really interesting spin on some pretty mundane topics, plus they do Q&As with all sorts of interesting people, like the guy who edits Post Secret and the Mythbusters. It can be dry at times, but its good for a quick read.

And then, perhaps, i'd link him to an article. To me, that is far more informative/useful than this alternate email.

Hey Dean - Freakonomics.com

On top of that, you get disgruntled (read this entire post) that people don't respond to the things you post. In many ways, i respect your zeal, but you've gotta tone it down a bit. Just because i choose to not respond to your threads, it doesn't make me ignorant, an asshole, or anything in between. Sometimes, i just don't give a shit. Same goes for threads started by my favorite and least favorite members of this community. I post where i want to, i read what i want to. Why?

Because this website is something i use to break up the work day. I don't have hours and hours free to read/comment on everything, so i pick and choose. Some days, sharing a dream is more important to me than reading a conspiracy theory. And that is fine and dandy for me.

In closing, why don't we start a thread called "Karaoke Time" or something of the like, where you can post to your heart's content articles, and invite others to discuss them. It limits the ammount of threads (good thing), gives you a place to share (good thing) and it doesn't make the General Chat section readers feel like they have to sift through the KOK posts to get to something they may care about more (very good thing). If they want their KOK fix, they know how to get a hit.

/rant
