I don't think anyone gets off for Groundhog's Day, but I also don't think it can be considered to have any religious significance. Unless you think people are worshipping the groundhog.

Lol. Well they are off for MLK and New Year's. Not sure about Memorial Day... well I guess they are out for that one too... so I am guessing not even Groundhog day. Poor kids.

My aunt who is a teacher here told me that they don't celebrate any holidays at the public schools here because if the religous connotation... including halloween and valentine's day.

i'm going to a halloween party this weekend and i have no idea what i'm being. i was gonna be cat in the hat but my friend hanna already is, so that'd be kinda gay.
i always hated halloween, i find candy based holidays really annoying, same with easter.

My kid's school is doing the stupidest thing! They want parents to dress up for Halloween but not kids. WTF? That is so backwards. What are the two more annoying holidays? I'm going to guess St. Swithins Day and Secretaries' Day.
I wish I could still dress up for Halloween, but there really isn't much occasion for people my age to do so, unless you're the kind of person who gets invited to parties. And really, does anyone think I'm that kind of person?
