Probably true but I hate all this post-rock shit

'Spiderland' isn't greatly recorded, probably because it's not actually recorded by Steve Albini, but Albini WISHED he had recorded it (he made such a statement public), and Albini-the-pundit gets lumped in with Slint-the-godfathers.

The recording does sound immensely better on vinyl, but viliande probably bought the vinyl. I remember viliande and I having extremely radical tastes (he loved stuff I hated, I hated stuff he loved, we both loved Guitar Wolf).

Spiderland is no less boring than The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place.

I have found the exact opposite to be true, though it took me a long time to fall in love with the album. Like literally a year or two.

It sounds best on vinyl.

'Spiderland' - I was going to buy this. Everyone gushes about it. I won't bother now. Thanks.

It was an online article saying that their are "hints" that the reunion could be fulltime. As we know with the Pixies who knows?

And the reunion boots sounded really good, which is not always the case, as we know.

I just read they might be planning a reunion. Keep our eyes out.

Slint is pretty cool. I have nothing really of value of to add to the conversation but one of the best compliments my band ever got was someone saying we reminded them of Slint, which I never understood at all, but whatever.

I had a few friends who listened to Slint, but haven't heard much about them lately, anyone know what is going on with them?
IceCream Posted - 10/05/2007 : 09:48:18
Thanks, KoK. Kick ass video for sure.

They seem to be pretty motionless concert performers. But I don't hold that against them. They let the music speak for itself. I like that. I regret that I wasn't able to see them perform live.

Wasn't Broken Face at the Pitchfork festival? Did he happen to see Slint? If so, what did he think?

No offense creamy but this is how you turn a lame ass thread into a kick ass thread.
