Mine was a Voll Damm in Barcelona.

Check out their website. The pointer-as-canopener conceit's cute in that "alcohol is fun" way.

Sadly, this was the first of maybe 3 beers I've had in my life. I hate beer but let's not go off topic, oh god, let's not!

What thriling things would you like to post about your first beer.

I've never actually drunk an entire beer. Nor have I ever smoked a cigarette. I'll probably do the former at some point in my lifetime, though, while I never intend to do the latter.

Homers, that's an outrageous idea! I'd never do somthing like that....

Oh yeah, also remember a house party when I had some Creme De Menthe on top of a load of drink. Very sick next day. Yuck.

Anyone for knob Marmite?
PixieSteve Posted - 09/25/2007 : 18:48:50
you can drink from the age of 5

I like to complain
pixiestu Posted - 09/25/2007 : 17:14:24
You have to be 18 to buy alcohol in the UK. I'm not sure about the other laws (ie being with you parents and drinking).

why? it's good to get familiar with alcohol from a young age, imo.

I used to be jealous of all you folks in the UK and Europe... what is the drinking age there? 16? And the cool thing is don't you get to drink younger if your parents are with you?

Please. Go look at that thread.

Sure. Kathryn tries to wreck my thread, and then holds it up as mismanagement in order to make her own thread look good. Do you see how this works, biscuit?

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.
kathryn Posted - 09/25/2007 : 16:14:12
Please. Have you checked Coastline's Bluefinger survivor threads? Now that's a case of someone needing to get their act together thread-wise.

The first beer I remember drinking was on a summer day in June of 1994. It was Miller Lite. I was 20.

If I remember correctly that was the same day as the big OJ Simpson fiasco.

I spent the day on a lake somewhere with some people I hardly knew (I was in town visiting relatives and they introduced me to those people). We had a blast! That was also the day I went "tubing" for the first time. Tubing while drunk is lots of fun!
s_wrenn Posted - 09/25/2007 : 11:15:12
I was 15. Heineken, in a can.
That was the first beer. But i had tried guinness and cognac (a mini bottle from those airplane trollies) a few years before that

What ciders do you drink? We get Strongbow over here, and I like it quite a bit.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

Strongbow is not very good really, but I will drink it (what won't I drink?)

I drink Bulmers Original, Magners, Gaymers Orchard Reserve, Aspalls, Brothers pear cider, Kopparbergs pear cider, Westons, Thatchers Katy, Addlestons, Frome Valley, Duche De Lon'Villie, Henry Weston, Jacques, Wychwood Green Goblin, St Helier......

I like to keep changing.

I was a late-drinking bloomer. My first beer was probably at 18? Maybe 19? It was a Heineken.

Well, as a child I was allowed a little drop of stout occasionally at Sunday dinner. I had sups of beer later, maybe a bit tipsy, but the first time I got well an truly hammered was on a camping trip-four cans of Bulmers later, I blacked out and woke up feeling very sick. I have a photo of myself the next day, after getting sick into somebodies garden. I can't stomach cider now!

i had an aspall the other day, quite a nice suffolk cider.

I can't remember what the beer was but I was about 11 or 12. I got really drunk. I had beer and lots of those rubbish alcopops (I didn't know any better then).

I'm a sensible drinker now though and I don't drink much else apart from lager.

I was 14 and it was a heineken.
It was during a sailing summer camp, with a roommate we went to the store and bought a six pack, a bottle of Coke and a small bottle of Rum. We were telling the cashier we bought it for our parents and the rum was to put in pancakes.
We wanted to drink the beer in our bedroom but we had nothing no bottle opener. so we did with a piece of metal on our window and spilled half the bottle on the floor. We didn't get very drunk.
The day after we did a mix with Rum and Coke that we took on our boat, but it was awful, to many rum and it was warm.

"Stolen" from some Marines on base as a Navy kid (circa 12 or 13 years old?). I'm sure they had no idea the local Navy brats were sneaking beers from their trash can full of ice and beers. I'm thinking it was Bud. Every time I smell a Bud I get some sort of memory recall. Considering their jobs, I really doubt they had no idea a couple kids were sneaking in and snagging a few beer from their party.

I have a super-8 film of me crawling across my grandmother's cellar floor for a Natty Bo. I would have walked but I was only nine months old.

Through my childhood, if I'd get my dad or grandfather a beer, my reward would be the first sip from the bottle. My grandfather drank National Bo', Dad usually had Carling Black Label.

I honestly don't remember I would say somewhere between senior year in high school and freshman year in college. i just don't remember the details. I was pretty good in that i waited a while before I started drinking.

I don't know. You would have to ask my parents.

Once when I young (less than 5) we were out for Sunday lunch at a small country restaurant famous for their chicken pot pies. This was in the South, so most people in the restaurant were probably on their way home from church. I threw a fit yelling "I want a beer".

Mine was a can of Busch.

A dear friend, who was about four years older than the rest of us in high school (on account of his parents fleeing Vietnam as the war was winding down and the kids being placed in lower grades so they could learn English), bought me a 12-pack of Busch in cans. I drank the first one in my bed by myself that night and snuck the empty can out of the house in the morning so my mother wouldn't know.

Another can from that same 12-pack ended up in the glovebox of my car while me and a buddy took a couple of younger girls out on a double date. The girls didn't know we'd brought (a) beer ... until we thought we were being pulled over by police and I yelled at my buddy, "THROW THE FUCKING BEER OUT THE FUCKING WINDOW!" Turned out it was just an ambulance going by. And the girls thought we were complete fucking morons for the whole episode. Like all four of us were gonna get drunk off -- or even enjoy -- a warm can of beer.

Good times.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.
