Posted - 08/28/2007 : 11:13:53 Walmart & Best Buy will sell them cheap. I bought this one for $550. (1gig mem, 80gig HD, DVD/CD Burners, Windows Vista, pre-loaded with porn j/k).
The Fanboys are saying Vista sucks ass. Ignore them. Vista works just fine with most new laptops. It's like the Mr. T/Chuck Norris debate (which is better?). They both are gnarly in my opinion.
by the way, if you ever wonder what the "One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't" is... http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant

Posted - 08/28/2007 : 10:52:14 Some of those Mac laptops can run Windows? That would be ideal.
My laptop is a Dell, and is so bad that it's the type of computer that incites legal action.
How much money can you spend? (How much you got?) I have dreams of a tablet/laptop convertible, so I can do something like this

Posted - 08/28/2007 : 09:39:54 I'd go with a Mac - they are more reliable and more media friendly than a PC laptop (and cheaper to upgrade software-wise- the new Mac OS is just over $130 - Vista was quite more and is bug-tastic). My only advice to you is to really figure out what you're using it for - i chose a smaller hard drive and bought an external, because i figured the only time i'd really need that much storage was for when i was at home (when i take the laptop out, i usually just use it for internet/word processing).
