Do ya? It was brilliant!
Dinosaurs were everywhere. Everyone had some dino-related thing to sell. You couldn’t go anywhere without seeing a dinosaur on a cereal box or on a plastic cup, with a dinosaur themed crazy-straw. I used to collect these magazines that came with glow in the dark dinosaur bones, and you assembled them in to a t-rex. I think I still have them in the house somewhere.
It was the coolest craze ever

I thought you'd say that. Well as they are a product of human existance, that's a given.

Haha, I literally laughed out loud. Reminds me of when I went to watch King Kong and theres a bit where it or someone is climbing down a rope and I was like thats fucking stupid, then I realised I was watching a love story with a CGI monkey in the lead.

It's on Sci Fi right now!

Okay so there's a plot hole i've failed to notice before; How the hell does the t-rex get into the room at the end without: making any noise, no one noticing, crashing through a wall (since the doorway is too small for it to get in)

Anyway still enjoyed it

I think this was at the time of one of the sequels, but I bought a little toy dinosaur that turned blue when you put in the freezer. I don't know why, I mean, what use is that? It was a shit toy. I bet I still have it somewhere though.

I still have a couple of those magazines and had that T-Rex for a while. The glow in the dark skeleton was neat, but then you also got body parts that you could assemble on the skeleton and paint...that's when I lost my interest. Still read the magazine though, it was quite good and the perfect blend between science and fun.

My son doesn't go a single hour without mentioning Jurassic Park. He wants to create the real park when he grows up.
PixieSteve Posted - 08/22/2007 : 06:05:08
jurassic park was amazing. i was 6 or 7 when it was released... perfect age. i think dinosaurs have always been loved by kids (boys) and always will be, but JP realy heightened that. i remember when i got it on VHS, i used to watch it at least once a week for a year or something!

as for official JP toys, i had the electronic t-rex one. i think it was official. the only thing wrong with it was the tail was bent, but i seem to remember every one in the toy stores had a bent tail and it was because the boxes weren't big enough!

hah yeah look at this pic:

First ever film I went to were they were queing out the door so we had to go to mcdonalds instead. Fuck, how long ago is it that mcdonalds was a decent enough substitute for a movie? 13 years yes I know...smartass(s)

The plot for the new one makes me want to gouge my eyes out, just at the thought, who gets paid to come up with utter shit like that.

I didn't know the dinos were mostly CGI - I thought they had actually built giant robot dinosaurs, so I was really impressed. I don't remember any toys. I bet if you liked dinosaurs, it would be fun to have a dinosaur toy.

I remember seeing it the night it came out in the best theater for big special effects movies at the time in Dallas...crowds waiting in lines that circled the theater...then people were so damn excited when the previews were on...that was a great night. I love that kind of energy when you have a giant auditorium full of excited people.

I'd rather be anywhere or doing anything

Yeah it was a kids paradise. The official JP toys we so cool. Then there was the slightly less cool rip of dinosaurs. The official ones had a JP logo on their leg, didn't they?

It was a great time to be a kid. The JP toys were awesome.

Jurassic Park, that is, not 'jewish princess'. that'd just be odd.

Born, but not old enough to remember. I was talking about, maybe like 1998, I remember there was a whole rack of Jurassic Park stuff.

That plot reminds me of Laser Cats!

Wasn't there a comic/toy years ago about dinosaurs with various weaponry? I don't mean Zoids by the way.
