It's been a long time since I knew of a music magazine that I could face reading on a regular basis. I've picked up uncut and word at various times recently when they've contained some article of interest but haven't been tempted to purchase them again. So where the bloody hell do people read news/articles/interviews/reviews? Are there good magazines out there? Is there anywhere online worth spending time reading?

Not that I'm unhappy blindly stumbling across new music but some supplementary knowledge wouldn't go amiss.

I just read this forum to hear new music.

My head was feeling scared but my heart was feeling free.

The good thing about Pitchfork is they tend to concentrate on more obscure stuff, and usually more American and Canadian bands too. They are good for finding new bands to listen to.

I used to enjoy Pitchfork, but I can't be arsed to read their huge diatribes nowadays. Drowned in Sound is 'alright', though I find their messageboards much more informative than their reviews or features.

I've heard that Stylus Magazine is rather good, but I've not that much experience reading them. I've just looked them up actually and read a bit of their review of Interpol's latest, and hated it so far.

It's generally quite tricky finding a good magazine. I always used to buy Comes with a Smile, but they've been out of action for a year or so now, which is sad. They were brilliant.

I thought you meant that actually being under the radar isn't so bad. It took mr.b's post to make me understand this is a mag.

i barely ever read magazines, but i saw the dears on the cover of under the radar a while back and read most of it in borders so i didn't have to buy it.

They give this out free at many venues around Manchester

It's very good for a freebie.

The NME is handy because you can look on the front page at the bands featured in the issue. But if there's no FB in it I never bother.

I only really buy film (and the occasional anime) mag now. I wouldn't touch NME with a barge pole these days. Except if it had a Frank/Pixies article, or featured a similarly interesting artist!!
