Posted - 07/19/2007 : 12:25:16 Three different bands... The Godz, The Fugs and the Holy Modal Rounders. I have nothing by any, just heard a few songs. Anyone a fan? Got recommendations on starting points. I love the tracks I've listened to from Godz 2 but the first is said to be better. Let me know!

I had the Fugs Second Album. Sort-of an immature, politicized Moondog. (IMO, don't bother.)
The Holy Modal Rounders were a bit more interesting. "Bird Song" is definitely their most well-known track (featured in Easy Rider).
I'd start with their 4th album, "The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders," then jump back to their 3rd ("Indian War Whoop").
