Others come and go. PJ Harvey's taking a crack at it with Let England Shake, out next month I think.

Posted - 04/15/2010 : 14:53:13 Today I discovered a fantastic album!! It's a Nick Lowe album called Jesus of Cool. I'd never even heard of him, but I'm absolutely loving this. I found it on eMusic's top 100 album download list. It came out in 1978. From what I can tell it's a send up/tribute/clebration of pop music in general (up till 1978 anyway), with lots of little nods and ripoffs, all done in a unique, creative way. It kind of reminds me of Harry Nilsson at his most playful. Maybe a weird missing link between Harry Nilsson and Elvis Costello? I'm not a huge Costello fan, but this is good shit. I don't know, it's energetic, fun, funny, and full of creativity, I highly recommend checking it out.
Edit: there are some great reviews on amazon.com that will give you a better idea than I can.
