We've got a What Frank Song Are You Listening To? thread. It's just plain dumb that we don't have a What Song Are You Listening To? thread in the General Section.

Bury by The Fall.
"Bury. As in Buree... French".
Still going strong nailing Englishness to the wall.

Others come and go. PJ Harvey's taking a crack at it with Let England Shake, out next month I think.

Cardiacs - they've been around for 30 years and I've only just discovered them. Completely hooked.

These are from their 'Sing To God' album.

I am enjoying Hey, Soul Sister by Street Corner Symphony. Jeremy Lister is the front man for this Nashville A capella group currently competing on NBC's THE SING-OFF.

Lindstrom - Little Drummer Boy - 42' version

It's from Christmas last year but I just realized I had actually never listened to it in its entirety. It's fucking awesome. 42 MINUTES OF LITTLE DRUMMER BOY. Amazing.

Cruel to be Kind is a great pop song. I have Nick Lowe's Best of Album and there's some real gems on that album.
johnnyribcage Posted - 04/15/2010 : 14:53:13
Today I discovered a fantastic album!! It's a Nick Lowe album called Jesus of Cool. I'd never even heard of him, but I'm absolutely loving this. I found it on eMusic's top 100 album download list. It came out in 1978. From what I can tell it's a send up/tribute/clebration of pop music in general (up till 1978 anyway), with lots of little nods and ripoffs, all done in a unique, creative way. It kind of reminds me of Harry Nilsson at his most playful. Maybe a weird missing link between Harry Nilsson and Elvis Costello? I'm not a huge Costello fan, but this is good shit. I don't know, it's energetic, fun, funny, and full of creativity, I highly recommend checking it out.

Edit: there are some great reviews on amazon.com that will give you a better idea than I can.
