I found a girl yeah she's so pretty
But my pretty little girl lives in a different city
She's so good yeah she's so sweet
With a pretty little name that starts with a 'B'

B-B-B-B-Bonnie!
B-B-B-B-Bonnie!

She asked me for a record i said you gotta be patient
It's not just a band it's a mode of transportation
And honey when you hear it you're gonna freak
It's the greatest little thing and it starts with a 'B'

B-B-B-Bicycles!
B-B-B-Bicycles!

Bonnie don't you cry if i'm not by your side
One day you'll understand your happiness is your hands

B-B-B-Bonnie!
B-B-B-Bicycles!
You g-g-g-g-g-g-gotta believe
Bonnie and The Bicycles is all i really need
Two little things that start with a 'B'

I was wondering what "b-b-b-broken face" was reminding me of.

It's 1969, okay.

A while back, someone brought back sean's old thread from last year about asshole forum members and Brian wrote a really good response- very well written, funny.
So checked out his blog and added The Rant to my favorites but I never see anything new, just the same old Sean Lennon review.

Write something new, please.

That's so cool! I can't wait to hear what you think of Fenway. I love those old ball parks the best :)

Daisy - Yes, my friend Manny is doing a year of graduate work @ Harvard, so i'm going to go in the spring to a game @ Fenway. Also, m'lady and i have a friend in Georgia and in Seattle, both of whom we promised we'd visit sooner rather than later. So those are on the horizon. Plus, a good chunk of my family/friends have relocated to California, so i can see those getting done in a bit. Ditto for Arizona, as my brother might be headed that way for graduate school.

You're right Denis, my life has been boring. Mainly, the lack of Denis.

My brother took off to Houston to work for NASA for the summer, and i follwed suit for a few days. I've been on 3 work-related trips. I wrote an album's worth of music. I saw 3 new ballparks (11 down, 20 to go). I dropped some weight. I was a groomsman in my college best friend's wedding. I broke my laptop. I decided on a tungsten carbine wedding band. I went through almost a month of internet-less work, which made me want to cry a lot. And i listened to a lot of folk music.

Sorry, I don't see nothing here more interesting than posting on an internet forum.

Do you have any any other ball park tours planned?

Glad you have made it to Wrigly, too. That's my fave that I been to Fenway Park. But I barely remember going to Fenway because I was a kid at the time.

Ah, good to have you back, my friend. If, sometime tomorrow, you have some free time, send me an email ASAP. I should have most of the morning/afternoon (here, I think that means evening for you) available for what I can only call Podcast 29. Otherwise, well, we'll stick to email for the moment.

I actually had been wanting to give you a call for a while but I don't have your voice number here with me.

Candlestick is no longer a MLB stadium. The Giants have moved to PacBell.

I might get to go to the new Busch Stadium (is it the 3rd Busch Stadium?) for the first time in a couple of weeks.

I've got a long way to go on the MLB stadiums list. Where I've been: Fenway, Yankee, Shea, Astrodome, Busch (the previous one), Jack Murphy (the old Padres home), Anaheim, Dodger Stadium, Oakland, Candlestick. 4 out of 10 are no longer used and Yankee Stadium will soon be gone.

Welcome back Brain!

Occasionally, a corporate name fits. I go to ballgames at Coors Field in Denver. That's always seemed appropriate.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.
hammerhands Posted - 08/14/2007 : 19:49:26
Hmm, interesting about the ball parks, there are more than that though? Is that a goal, what is the goal?

When I was there in Chicago the field was called New Comiskey. And although Candlestick has a new name I don't think >>WE<< should bother if we are not under contract to MLB!

I've been to HHH in Minneapolis (yawn, nice folks though), Wrigley (which is everything you've heard about!) and New Comiskey. I still would like to see the waterfalls in Kansas City.

Kathryn - it was mainly early Dylan - i don't know if that helps or hurts my case.
Speed - I did write that song. I actually just found a half-way decent recording of it. I will send it to you one of these days (promise!)
Daisy - The new ones i saw were Comerica (Chicago White Sox), Minute Maid Park (Houston Astros) and The Ballpark at Arlington (Texas Rangers). Hoping to get to Citizen's Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies) before the end of the season...

Again, thanks for the well-wishes.

Hi folks.

First of all, i am touched by this thread. For reals.

A brief, but totally lame explanation of my absence:

Life got busy. 2 people got fired/quit my small office of 6 people, so work load piled up. My fiance and i got to have a real honest to goodness vacation. We also just bought a condo. We get married in less than 6 weeks. Money has been tight, so i've been finding small odd-jobs to do to make ends meet. Is any of this valid? No - i should have been here. But i wasn't. And i'm ok with admitting i've been an asshole. With Dean not around, podcasting became a chore that had no fun payoff (talking to my Canadian friend) and then my laptop breaking did in podcasting for a spell. And the forum was so slow when i left, i assumed that it would be fine without me. Clearly, it was, but it was unfair of me to leave this burden on Dean and, especially, Tre. My sincerest apologies to those of you who worried, or got annoyed at my absence. But, i'm back. And although there may be a lull around my wedding (end of September), i will do my best to be around between now and then.

I missed you guys,

- Brian

PS - Tony, thanks for censoring the story a bit!

Well I guess the truth was never going to be as funny as floop's story.

Congratulations though Brian, and don't apologise for having a life. It's been fine around here anyway.

I was going to make a funny I-met-Brian story but turns out that Floop's is funny enough for me to ride its coattails. He'll be back soon, just that real life took over, nothing serious but lots of things on his plate at the momo.
