being a relatively new home owner, i'm curious to see where my fellow fb.netters live...
i don't care which neighbourhood or anything...i mean what kinda house, flat, apartment, mansion you call home.
i just like being nosey.
maybe add a bit of info about the place...ie whther you're owning or renting or whatnot, and other shit like that.
i think it'll be interesting.
maybe i'm alone in that, and if i am, humour me.
my turn:
we bought this house about 6 months ago, and we like it alot.
3 bedrooms, built in the 1950's, and on a rather large 2500 square metre section.
not liking the huge mortgage, but glad we got ours when the interest rates where only 7.9%, whereas they're now hitting the 10% mark....so you others can stop your whinging about interest rates...try living in new zealand!
so come on, what do you call home?

unfortunately it's not as calming as we'd like.
we have the main road at the bottom of our garden which is quite intrusive, but it is something we've gotten used too, but in an ideal world it'd be going past someone elses house.
the road changes from 100 to 70 speed limit and there's lots of big trucks, so quite noisy, but it hasn't affected us at all so am relieved about that.
working from home aye....
now that would be nice.
but think you need to cut down on those hours....
no point working from home if you don't get to spend any of it not working!

'Not particularly exciting'??
A lot of people would be very pleased indeed to have that kind of outlook. I hope the location is suitably calming. That's the thing that gets me most about where we live. I can sit outside and usually the only sounds are birds, sheep and the swishing of trees on a breezy day. Very good for the soul - particularly as I work from home (only downside is that I'm working a 50 to 60 hour week at the moment!!)

ok barney,
here's a couple of long views-ish.
first one's out our lounge window and the 2nd out our kitchen window. not particularly exciting, but we like it.

well can't do one today cause it's rainy and the cloud is covering mt baldy which is just over the road...
mountain is a bit deceiving cause it's really only a hill, but i'll post one when the rain clears.
however, our view ain't quite like that picture, and the photo's i've previously taken have never done it justice...time will tell.
i'd love a ride on, but simply can't afford it...maybe in a few years....
yeah interest rates are pretty silly here....highest in the civilised world...weehee.

Isaac - any chance of a long view over the trees? I've always wanted this kind of (Lake District) view:
Wouldn't fancy 10% interest rates. Very glad we are on a 5 year fix at 4.99% with only a few more years left after that!

do you mow all that? you must have a ride on...
and thats a beautiful outlook kfs. i love looking out over the country-side. just need some cows or hoeses a bit closer to the camera and it would be perfect...
we're lucky that we've got quite a high position for our house so we look over the top of the houses in front of us, across the road to the rolling hills and stuff. it is so very nice.

Do have some photos of our first and only snowfall of the winter back in March.

All the trees now in leaf so view has changed dramatically in last month. I love this time of the year.
Views are 50% owned by us, 50% by the mortgage company.

daisy, i have no idea what a cape cod house is, or what one looks like....
and yes, the garden is very nice. however, i'm not enjoying it quite so much now that i've just finished mowing the damn lawn which took me 3 hours non-stop mowing..

I will not horrify anyone with pictures of my apartment. It is 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 1 small kitchen and a quite not big enough living room. I try looking at it this way: My 3 kids and I are cozy in my little apartment most of the time, but there are times when privacy just doesn't happen. I hope to live here long enough to get through college (about another year). Then I hope to buy a house.

Beautiful house, benji. I love your garden and patio especially. We have a 3 bdrm Cape Cod built in 1940. It's grey with white and black trim. We've been there about a year and a quarter. it needs painted badly, so I am not posting any pics....but it's nice and cozy and we like calling it home...
