Posted - 09/08/2007 : 15:48:43 seriously, anything.
for instance, i was watching an infomercial for a collection of 70s soft rock hits (bread, chicago, etc) after a bong hit once and was REALLY digging it.
the next day i popped in my "best of chicago" cd that my dad gave me and was more than underwhelmed (or should i say "less than"?).

Slightly off topic, but a long time ago I used to do acid occassionally (would never do it now, btw, I prefer a cup of tea) and one time I listened to 'The Bed' by Lou Reed. Let's just say that is definately NOT a song to hear when your senses are frazzled.
Godspeed
Neither is "Wild Thang" by Unrest (cover of the Troggs song). On acid or a cup of tea. It'll mess with your head.

Posted - 05/18/2007 : 02:12:12 course certain drugs can enhance music, or at least change your perception of it. what actually is music? from the speaker to your ears, it's just vibrations in the air. it's your brain that makes it a sound, so you don't think the state of your brain can change the way you experience it?

Posted - 05/17/2007 : 12:39:36 There's big differences between different kinds of drugs. I like to smoke pot but you wouldn't see me tying one off. I think we established in another thread that alcohol is a drug too. Different strokes folks.

Posted - 05/15/2007 : 17:07:34 my best (one of few) music-weed experience is Hey.
everything sounded so detailed and precise. like the guitar notes frank plays that follow the bass when joey is doing his solo - that was so fucking loud and clear. or the guitar joey plays from "choirs like a choir". normally i barely hear that stuff, it's mixed so low. it was like the music went from being 2D to 3D - each part had it's own space, rather than being on top of everything else .stereo panning is so fucking amazing when you're stoned too. it's like having two people either side of you, fighting for your attention. i'd love to experience 5.1 when stoned.

Posted - 05/15/2007 : 16:45:54 About 8 years ago I was listening to Los Angeles by Frank after having smoked a bit...I really dont like weed at all...it makes me paranoid, it makes my heart go all zany, and I can solve the universe, but it slips away before I can write it down...anyhow, I was enjoying a rare relaxing buzz (I'm a lightweight) and listening to Los Angeles, and the weird little bridge which ends with him screaming "CHAAAA!!!" right before the the third verse was InSaNe!!! The warpy bendy low thumping accenting the drums and bass, and then Frank screaming "CHAAA!!!" pretty much sent me into the 5th dimension. I have never recaptured that same zone I was in that night with that song.

I wonder what kind of feedback a thread called "Music to listen to while on HEROIN" would get? I shudder the thought. And I wonder if the reponses would vary at all..
It would get a better response than to a thread called,"MuSIc to lIsTen to wHilE on HER0IN" |
