So for work I have to buy a car, and pretty soon (car allowance stuff)... Any suggestions? Been looking at Clios, Fiestas, Golfs, 306s, all 2nd hand. Then I thought why have one of those standard first cars, when I could get...

A VW Clipper! Now it may be due to the lovely sunny days we've been having recently, but heck, I'd look pretty ace turning up to work in that baby! The only way I'd look any better is if Christina Ricci was sat alongside me. Vintage.

Are Renault Meganes circa 1999 shit?
Am i better off going for an Almera from the same year? (the megane has 90,000 miles, the almera has 130,000, and cost a bit more. Both are in good nick)

Someone in town took a Niva and lifted it enough
that it was as tall as it was long...very strange.
tisasawath Posted - 05/17/2007 : 02:07:00
if you mean Niva, by all means
i've seen it literally leave some other 4WD cars behind in one off-road challenge

My dad is an excellent mechanic, but he's based in Oldham so probably no use to you.

No water had built up in the engine and it got into the car as something was blocked that should have let it drain out underneath... A trip back to the garage methinks!

That's a new one.

Car update... Drove to work for first time in it, was heading back from lunch up a bit of a hill, quite fast, and bang, a load of water poured into the driver's side?!?!!! Not very happy. It's quite a deep puddle, took ages to get out and it's still very damp. :(

I'm sure it's this one, Simone?

Either way. Want one.

Idiot.

I think I know the one you mean. I have seen quite a few here too, but they are not originals as I had hoped. They are brand new copies.

for a second there, kfs, i thought i was looking at the 'Guiness Book of Records' largest garage door.

Transmarine? Capri? Now we're talking. It's my girlfriend's favourite car, ever. There was one in mint condition sold recently for £10,000.

North London, and I'll take five if that's the case. I have a spare ha'penny somewhere.

You don't live in SW London do you? They're two a penny around here for some reason.

around 5.66 usd/gallon here. on the other hand an average car in use here consumes less fuel per travelled distance than in the US, so that makes it a bit easier on the wallet than it might seem

I think it is beautiful too. If I had that I would never drive it. I would be afraid someone would hit it then I would have to kick some butt.

I don't know how gas prices are in other countries but here in America it is really beginning to get ridiculous. I would recommend getting a car that does not suck gas. I wish I lived close enough to every place I need to go to ride a bike. Stay in shape, save money and save the environment.
