This is quite a strange area, because I personally would never cheat on someone. I am a firm believer in relationships...and yet I've become that OTHER factor. I only enabled it because the person is who I want to spend the rest of my life with...ugh. Don't think I haven't considered this said person to turn around and do it again...but I am so confident (confidant? sp?) as to have been the end-all-be-all...god, I am drunk and guilty. And a grown up. Terrible. To be human. Any others?

Seriously though, it's done now, no use beating yourself up about it. Just make sure you try your best to make this work out between the two of you. At least then it won't have been for no good at all.

Depends on if the person's other is meant to be with them, I guess. Life is short, and true happiness is hard to find. Love isn't black and white, I don't think. If you feel strongly about this person, and they felt strongly enough to be with you, then maybe they don't belong with the other person.
I wouldn't be happy if someone cheated on me, but I try to believe that if they would be happier with the other person, I would be man enough to let them go. If I felt strongly that she belonged with me, I would certainly fight for her though. I had a hard breakup once, and she cheated on me. It hurt a lot, but in the end, I figured out that she wasn't meant for me. Now she has a beautiful family with 4 kids and we occasionally stay in touch to share family photos and stuff. It made me appreciate love more in the long run.

Just because someone cheated with you doesn't mean they will eventually cheat on you. Life isn't tidy and easy and allows us to classify people as either 1) good or 2) evil scumbags who are capable of cheating and therefore will always inevitably cheat.
