So I went to the Camden Crawl, basically loads of bands playing two days (Thurs and Fri) around various venues in Camden, London. Was a bit disappointed really, couldn't get in to a number of venues as there were too busy, and I didn't think the line-up was that great. Not bad considering how much the tickets were, but a tad frustrating!

For examples was very annoying that you didn't find out the line-up in terms of times and venues until the morning of each day. So Simple Kid and Shout Out Louds clashed on day one, I've seen SK, so went to SOLs, however on the Friday it turned out the Shouts were playing again but no SK.

Shout Out Louds were great and Polytechnic weren't bad. Oh and bumped into Mel (GypsyDeath) who was running some kind of VIP bar area. She's now a legend as far as we're concerned!

Anyone else go?

(as a side note it beats the hell out of Manchester's In The City event, that seems to be more about promoting new local bands to music execs instead of holding a great music festival in the city for the fans)

ha, brilliant, i am a legend. I cant believe you turned down free beer the first time!

I think CC is a great idea. I wish i had more of a chance to see the bands i wanted to catch. I saw Billy Brag, Hot Club De Paris & Rumble Strips. Considering i had a AAA pass I really should of gone to more as you dont need to queue and can always get in...jut too busy.

Next year i believe it will be 3 days - they are building up to do a whole week!

P.S: Give me a shout next time and ill give you the timetables before hand!

Did anyone see Pete and the Pirates? They're brilliant. I think they played the Friday. I didn't go, mind, but I've seen them a couple of times at their record label's monthly night.

Yes I did, my mate convinced us to go. My gf was disappointed that they weren't really pirates. They were quite good.

That's pretty much exactly what it is, altohugh I don't think it really hides it that much. It's for bands trying to get signed.

I have fancied the CC for the last few years, but have never gotten around to arranging a trip there.

Did you see The Dykeenies?

Erm, I didn't really see many bands that I remember the name of. I'm quite sure I didn't see them.
