Don Johnson - HEARTBEAT (1986)

One of the all-time laugh-inducing atrocities ever!

I titled the thread because there was another thread called something to the effect of "favorite non-FB albums". I'm sure anyone who doesn't like FB could give you an example of a "so-bad-it's-good" FB album.

The first track off of Dee Dee King's album Standing in the Spotlight is hilarious.

"Rio" by Duran Duran? I actually think it's a pretty good album, but some might call it cheese.

I'd like to put the New Radicals "Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too" album in a category somewhat like this, maybe it's more in the "guilty pleasure" department, cuz I really can't say it's so-bad-it's-good because the songs are well-crafted and performed, and there's some good lines like "So original in her black lipstick/ Listening to some obscure band/ but isn't she pissed that all the other non-conformisits/ listen to that same obscure band". Lots of hooks, falsetto, thick arrangements, bright colors, it's a fun pop album. Yeah, it's not so-bad-it's-good, it's just a guilty pleasure.

Reggie and the Full Effect had that album "Under the Tray" that seemed to be mocking a lot of popular styles from the last few years, and it was well-done bad music, like stylistic parodies. The Knack's first album, Get the Knack, yeah, it's probably bad but I enjoy it for overwrought power pop.
