Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

My old man loves Herman Brood. always palms off albums from dutch artists in the hope I may like them, but I don't really listen to them. most of it's crap, but i really like cuby & and blizzards and q65.

i'll dust off a brood album tonight, but only because you guys like him.

Soaked my boots and my attributes, began to diminish

I DL'd Shpritz this morning. Fair amount of similarities (musically) 'tween Frank and Herman Brood.

Oddly enough, I don't like the album much at all.

I have it on right now and I can hear why Frank likes him. The music has that nice Lou Reed-late 70s Iggy Pop (New Values album) thing happening, and there's a lot of attitude in the singing. It's a good album and I might not have bought it if not for Frank. Thanks Frank!

of course you can get all of Brood's cd's over here. Maybe I should by some. Thanks to Frank and a movie I saw about him at my university I'm getting into his songs.
His most famous record is Shpritz, it's got Dope Sucks and Saturday Night

Dang, the contest closed on Jan. 31, 2000. FB is seven years late. Think they'll accept a slightly late entry?

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

So...this Herman Brood fellow...
He's a painter AND a musician?
Sounds interesting.

Which of his songs might I have heard?

Where exactly do you live, billgoodman? I'm sure you said it recently in the thread where FB was posting the weird stuff -- all of which he deleted, by the way -- but I'm too lazy to go looking through 10 pages of posts.

I'm really fascinated by Herman Brood. He was truly punker than punk. Somebody ought to record a whole album about his life and death. Here's a cool picture of his grave, where an angel seems to be comforting him.

billgoodman Posted - 03/21/2007 : 16:23:41
I like his paintings! He made me laugh too.

Still in Holland he's mostly known for being a junk and being honest about it.
Always talking about Sex and Drugs, kind of shock-rock but with way more humour and sophistication. When he's body was tired of being molested by alcohol and speed, he decided to
commit suicide.
Maybe I should focus more on the music, I believe that's what you can learn from Frank ;). You can talk about how is thinner than three years ago, or you can listen to FMRM or Christmass or Fort Wayne. So let me listen to some Herman Brood and have a decent opinion.
