Posted - 03/17/2007 : 12:04:28 So last night after having my wisdom teeth removed I was all hazy from too much painkillers and pudding, so, I figured, what better way to chase the blues away than make some impulse buys off iTunes. Randomly I typed in HSR, wanting to hear them because of Rich Gilbert's involvement. Never in my wildest dreams would I think iTunes would have them, but, to my astonishment they did! So I bought Fig. 15, and how glad I am that I did. It's just fantstic, I had heard "Jackie Onassis" before on a mix a friend made for me, but the whole album is just wonderful, especially the final track, "Anne Frank Story". After that I downloaded from Soulseek (sorry, Rich!) their second album, In A Roman Mood, and it was even better! Darker, and just mindblowingly good. Why they weren't wildly popular is a mystery to me. They sort of remind me of a mix between the best aspects of Television and the Talking Heads, with a hint of Pere Ubu thrown in. So, I don't know, I guess this is kind of a pointless post, I'm just really excited to have "discovered" such a cool band, and I assume, this being an FB forum, there's probably some other fans around. |
