Tammy Faye Bakker is not doing so well. Seen her on the Today show the other morning. Said she has cancer and it has spread to her lungs. Reports say she weighs about 65 pounds.

I can't bring myself to participate in these dead pools (they horrify me), but every time someone dies, I wonder who may have picked that person (or horse, in the case of Barbaro). We have a pool here at the newspaper, and the travel editor had Anna Nicole. Genius! Brilliant!

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

True - but I like to take a few long shots; nothing against Elton or anything.

The only one that I can think of is Margaret Thatcher. This was inspired by a sticker on a toilet wall: party in Trafalgar Square. Date: the day after Thatcher dies.

Harsh but funny commies, I guess.

I had to teach the ills of drug taking to some kids at the end of last year. To illustrate the bad side of substance abuse I used Pete Doherty as a case study and got them to look at his criminal record (extensive), his health and a few pictures of the freak. The kids all thought he was a massive loser. One lad wasn't sure who Pete Doherty was so asked the regular teacher. I overheard him say "If there was one celebrity I could predict would be dead within the next year, it'd be Pete Doherty".

Idiot.
