Hello!
I'm attempting to plan my birthday -my 21st. I'm looking for ideas of bars/restaurants/clubs and pubs.
The plan is this - im going bowling, and from there I'm looking for somewhere to eat, and then go to a bar/club/decent pub after.
The bar/club/pub needs to have a good atmosphere, reasonable priced drinks, and play great music/have a juke box.
However, my opinion of great music may differ to some of those coming! So 80s/retro/motown/indie classics is the safest options.
Also - the whole thing has a loose 1950s/rockabilly theme.
So i thought i would have put it to you Londonites, or those who have visited some decent places for any recommendations or ideas!
Its on Saturday 18th November.

I'm planning mine, in Birmingham. 1st Nov. A decent pub in the student district, cheap drinks and we've got the stage/PA too, so a little naff open micage will have to be arranged. |

it does have some significance..I mean its meant to be the kind of 'big' one -but 18 is obviously quite big here too. I didnt really do much for my 18th, I usually 'freak' out about birthday - and cancel everything. So i am making the effort to actually DO something this year.
I'm not sure why its a big deal. You're officially 'an adult' (ha!) apparently. But that doesnt make much sense - i dont realy know what you can do at 21 that you cant do at 20. I guess there are some bars that are 21 over only...My main thing is i can go back to USA and have a drink! (i last went when i was 16).

Does turning 21 in the UK have the same significance as in the USA?
In the USA alot of people super-celebrate turning 21 because that means you can go into the clubs and drink legally. |

Ive been to the boogaloo - its pretty cool, but a remember it beinga little pricey? Or was that somewhere else?
Havent been to the others - will check em out. Im preferably looking for somewhere more central - but depends if i can talk any one in to paying for a travel lodge in town - or if i have to trek back to brighton!
