Go ahead, spill the beans. Your Top 25 most played on your iPod or equivalent device. Not what you choose but what the record shows you've listened to the most.

Mine is not something I'm especially proud to share, but it is interesting (to me) that I don't listen to most of these songs often anymore, more when I was in Europe. I guess it also shows I listen to albums more than single tracks:

1) Star Wars and the Revenge of the Sith (main title/opening scene)
2) Anakin's Dream
3) Battle of the Heroes
4) Anakins' Betrayal
5) General Grievous
6) Decemberists - Sixteen Military Wives
7) Decemberists - The Infanta
8) Andrew Bird - Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left
9) Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot
10) Kaiser Chiefs - Everyday I Love You Less and Less
11) Franz Ferdinand - Evil and a Heathen
12) Franz Ferdinand - You're the Reason I'm Leaving
13) Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To
14) Franz Ferdinand - Outsiders
15) Franz Ferdinand - The Fallen
16) Franz Ferdinand - This Boy
17) Kaiser Chiefs - Modern Way
18) Franz Ferdinand - Eleanor Put Your BootsOn
19) Franz Ferdinand - Well That Was Easy
20) Thanos Petrelis - H Oraia
21) ? - Ftaine ta matia sou
22) AC Newman - Miracle Drug
23) Run Chico Run - Sportscars for Everyone
24) Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
25) The Old Soul - River of Daughters

In partial defense of my list, I was at a Franz show in Europe and of course aside from loving the music of Star Wars/John Williams, I was both getting excited for and reliving the excitement of seeing that movie for the first time on opening night in London. But I am sorry that FB didn't crack the list. As far as lifetime listens go he'd probably be up there right behind the Empire Strikes Back and probably Return of the Jedi soundtracks.

1. Oversleeping - I'm from Barcelona
2. Don't Get Me Wrong - FB
3. Demon Girl - FB
4. Underwater (You & Me) - Clap Your Hands...
5. Testament To Youth In Verse - New Pornographers
6. Ring a Ding Ding - Brakes
7. Biggest Star - The Elected
8. Fort Wayne - Grand Duchy
9. Shady Lane - Pavement
10.Forget The Flowers - Wilco
11.Hapiness is all the Rage - Promise Ring
12.Question - Old 97's
13.Radio Lizards - FB
14.Dilaudid - Mountain Goats
15.Bird Dream - Pixies
16.She's My Way - FB
17.Love Song No.7 - Clap Your Hands

19.The Good That Won't Come Out - Rilo Kiley
20.Mama, Won't You Keep Those Castles... - Clap Your Hands
21.Christian Girl - Hefner
22.What Ever Happened To Pong? - FB
23.Kate - Ben Folds Five
24.Alec Eiffel - Pixies
25.More Christian Girls - Hefner

(Shout Out Louds are fast approaching that top 25)

Quite cool to see other people's, lots of bands I recognise and love, I suppose it's obvious but I always think of a lot of bands as being my little secret, but in fact I probably first heard them mentioned here! I hope I have time to have a proper look through these lists at some point and check out the stuff I haven't heard, bound to be a large number of real gems in this thread!

Note this is a Zen Vision list, not an iPod list. :p

Brrr.... are you that kind of... star wars fans... singing that wagnerian ripp off: "Dum dum dada dum dada dumb dada" with stars in your eyes and saying "I'm your father" before bursting out laughing with some mate like you....???

Sorry... I'm so confused right now...
I mean I don't want to offend you. I don't KNOW you. But the concept and vision of a SwW fan is sort of scaring me.

Are star wars fans talking about the double trilogy dealing with flying ships and beaming lasers produced by some mad Lucas or is it another film like arty underground production released 30 years ago and still very clever and ahead of time ???

Am I just not in touch with reality... or else...

I can't understand the SW phenomenom. I understand the Simpsons' one, even the Family Guy one, or even the Monty Pitton madness (c'est limite cependant)... but Star Wars...

I'm out of the topic but I'm Joey joe jo.

Cheers and good luck.

Although Floop, Your Jacques Dutronc made it into the top 10 - weird!?!?!?!?

Crispy, others, would you say these mixes are accurate/would you burn a CD for someone with your 'top 25' on it? I probably wouldn't, but that's because it's too eclectic and very album oriented. But if I had a list of singles more like some of yours maybe...

I'd say mine reflects reasonably well what I've been listening to. There are a couple of obvious problems though:

1) I only signed up on that website eight months ago - I've been listening to music longer than that.

2) Some of the Frank songs (Headache, Tame), while definitely good songs, get their numbers inflated a smidge by my listening to a number of FB/Pixies shows and these are played at pretty much every one of them.

3) It doesn't account for what I don't listen to on a computer.

So in response to your question about burning a mix CD, I would not do it based on these charts unless asked to do so. I listen to a lot more stuff than what's on the top of the list - of the top 10 artists listed on my chart, only 5 appear in the Top 25 tracks played.

I might also use this space to add that the last.fm website has been a revelation for me, in no small part because it marries my twin obsessions of music discovery and statistics. Their streaming radio service is the best I've ever come across, and I've been introduced to a lot of exciting music by using it. Because others have linked to their pages, I will add mine - http://www.last.fm/user/Crispy_Water

Nothing is ever something.

I actually like most of that Decemberists album Mike (respect level dropping, I know, I know) but those two are definitely the standouts. I do listen to whole albums almost always, but sometimes will repeat a song many times or, for example, wake-up and want something upbeat like, say, Sixteen Military Wives. I'd have to go further down to see, but I suspect the rest of the Franz/Decemberists/Star Wars songs in particular are not TOO far behind. Certainly the Star Wars ones, I listen to those like I'm watching the movie, it really is an event like Hammerhands describes it.

So it would be a safe bet to say you're a singles man as opposed to albums?

I bought some Of Montreal on eMusic but haven't been able to really get into it yet. Still hoping...

Lots of people tell me to listen to other stuff apart from Frank Black and I do listen to different bands, it's just that it doesn't show on that list because I listen to Frank Black soooo much. To be honest I expected similar lists from others on the forum.

Maybe this will show more of what I listen to.

Oh and [off-topic] homers, I have to admit that although it wasn't Pokemon stickers that I spent money on I did collect Premier League stickers last season. I remember when I was about 9 or 10 saying that I would collect them when Wigan were in it so I just couldn't resist! It was a childhood dream come true!

I want to play, I want to play. But I can't.

Dean, I see you listened to the only two really good Decemberists tracks. Well done. I also suspect some people here are lying. I admire your honesty.

Stu, I think perhaps you need to extend your record collection a little. I know you are young, but come on, stop spending your pocket money on Pokemon stickers, and start spending it on building that collection ; )

I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

My players don't have smart playlists. I think mine would look more like Dean's [and coastline's], are we the only people who listen to albums in their entirety, as an event?

My top 25 tracks come from just two albums (FB's "Honeycomb" and Nellie McKay's "Get Away From Me," which is pretty boring, so I'll list the first 25 albums that come up:

1. Frank Black -- Honeycomb
2. Nellie McKay -- Get Away From Me
3. Jack Johnson -- Curious George soundtrack
4. Norah Jones -- Feels Like Home
5. Mindy Smith -- One Moment More
6. Bright Eyes -- I'm Wide Awake It's Morning
7. R.E.M. -- Around the Sun
8. Various Artists -- Shrek soundtrack
9. k.d. lang -- Hymns of the 49th Parallel
10. Frank Black and the Catholics -- Show Me Your Tears
11. Elvis Costello -- The Very Best of EC
12. Black Eyed Peas -- Where Is The Love? (single)
13. Jane's Addiction -- Ritual de lo Habitual
14. Jet -- Are You Gonna Be My Girl (single)
15. Cake -- Motorcade of Generosity
16. FB&C -- Pistolero
17. Lucinda Williams -- Lucinda Williams
18. Nellie McKay -- Pretty Little Head (unreleased)
19. US3 -- Cantaloop (single)
20. Alison Krauss & Union Station -- Lonely Runs Both Ways
21. Tori Amos -- The Beekeeper
22. Norah Jones -- Come Away With Me
23. Weird Al Yankovic -- Poodle Hat
24. FB&C -- Dog in the Sand
25. Edie Brickell & New Bohemians -- Shooting Rubberbands at the Sky

I'm a bit surprised by some of these -- or, rather, by what's not on the list. I don't quite understand how iTunes counts songs played, but I know I've listened to some songs a million times and they don't show up on the count (FB's "Nadine," Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah"). But I think it's hilarious that I've listened to various versions of "Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove" day 388 times since I discovered it just a year and a half ago. That comes out to more than 25 hours listening to one song. That's a full day of my life. I'm obsessive.

Maybe she'll park, and I'll drive.

Not bad either, but I think you guys are cheating... :)

Kathryn it's just a playlist, you can make a new one if you accidentally deleted. I think they call it a Smart playlist of something...
