Posted - 09/20/2006 : 12:19:15 I always liked a couple of their songs, but been listening to the post 2000 albums, and they're freakin' fantastic!!! I wanted to say this in an existing thread, so if someone can point me to it, I'll repeat my praise there! (the search thing is crashin' on me when I try to find it)
Recommend stuff to me people!

Posted - 10/03/2006 : 07:26:45 Ahhhh... an amazing band (if you can call them a "band").
I caught them following the obvious Neutral Milk Hotel->Decemberists->Mountain Goats path. I've got "All Hail West Texas" spinning for entire weeks.

Posted - 09/20/2006 : 12:44:44 I don't really enjoy the Mountain Goats all that much, but i think John Darnelle has written a handful of great songs, and i think he is a really great example of someone who uses their 'clout' well in the indie world (always taking local bands on tour, really supporting his local scene, etc.).

Posted - 09/20/2006 : 12:24:01 I started listening to Field Music again. God, I love that album.
I can't really get into the Mountain Goats for the same reason I can't get into TMBG and (to a lesser extent) Decemberists.
