Posted - 08/22/2006 : 11:13:03 I saw at least three different people pimping their blogs in the movie spoiler thread and I thought, well why can't one advertise? Apparently it's not cool to go promote your blog, but whatever. I have one, it's an mp3 blog so I post (pretty much every day) an mp3 or two of some music that I'm enjoying. I like reading other peoples' music blogs as well, it gives me an idea of what I can be listening, and helps me filter out the dross.
So do you kids have a blog? If so - why? Why did you start it, and what do you get out of it? According to stats, in the UK around a quarter of the population keep a regular blog, so by any guess there must be a fair few here. Do you read others? Which are your favourites?
Discuss.

Posted - 09/06/2006 : 08:20:10 I got up to the top ten in the Hype Machine the other day. Get me! I'm a publicity whore, who'd have thought.
Anyway, I'm now pimping my second podcast, which may appeal to those of you who like things on the electronica side.

Uh, yeah, sorry, I accidently logged twice yesterday. That should be 24 then.
:) By the way, you should translate the interview with Richard Bellia, it's a great one (and I love his photos. Have you seen his blog during the Cannes Festival? It was awesome)

Posted - 08/24/2006 : 01:42:58 I'm currently sitting at no.38 on the Hype Machine top 50 most popular mp3 blog songs, which I don't think is bad going. Go download some tracks kids, make me look good.

I sort of have two.
The first one I started because I was bored and wanted to have a go at writing stories. I kept it up because I quite like writing stories and I get bored easily. I haven't added to it as much as I probably should have because I've been pretty busy fairly recently. No one reads it so I don't much mind, it's just somewhere to put it. Part of starting it was to get over being precious about writing things and having it seen. It serves it's purpose.
The second one is three of us on forum who wanted to have a go at a music blog without the pressure of having to keep on discovering new bands and posting all the time. So we decided to work together and operate on a monthly theme-scheme. This is our first month and so far so good. We're hoping to put together a little podcast at the end of each month to put the theme to bed. I get a lot from this one. When making the 'cast for the CD swap I really enjoyed the researching aspect and this is an extension of that for me. Learning is fun. Plus, the group aspect is nice.
Who says you can't pimp your blog? I don't see why not.

Group blog: bluets
My favourite would absolutely be the wonderful you can call me betty. I always refer people to this well written, thoughtful and generally most excellent blog when asked where to go for an intellectual and informative source for discovering new music.
I like how the dates in your archives descend in a taper. I guess August will change all that.

Nothing to exciting as of late. I try not to be verbose with my blog. Also I post some photos now and again in my faux photoblog. |

You can't trust statistics. 90% of all people know that.

Posted - 08/22/2006 : 12:56:35 ok, I have one too. I enjoyed doing the ebook, so I thought I'd stick some stuff on the web. It's fun and it forces some creativity on my analytical brain. The Hopeless Jazz Werewolf
I also contribute to the aforementioned Group Blog Bluets which is turning out to very enjoyable - like Tre says, the research is pretty interesting.
