Macpherson and Klum in 'The battle for 'The Body'
Saturday, August 12, 2006

London, It's the battle of the supermodels with Heidi Klum and Elle Macpherson waging war for the right to use the nickname 'The Body'.

Australian beauty Elle Macpherson was the first one to be nicknamed 'The Body' for her perfect figure. However, things changed when the 43-year old's throne was usurped by German Victoria Secret's lingerie model Heidi Klum who recently launched her line of bras using the name.

A spokeswoman for the Aussie beauty's lingerie line, Elle Macpherson Intimates, said that bosses were "flabbergasted" that Klum was using the name "The Body" when it so clearly belonged to Macpherson.

"We were initially flabbergasted. We have numerous press clippings in the office referring to her as 'The Body'. Everything from Harper's Bazaar to Vogue to the recent Sports Illustrated calls her that. In terms of public record, that name belongs to Elle," the Daily Mail quoted her, as saying.

And if the Macpherson is thinking about suing Klum, copywriting expert Arthur Pottersman, who has 40 years experience, said that the effort would not be worth the time and money spent.

"You cannot say that using the name 'The Body' for a bra is passing yourself off as the nickname Elle Macpherson has. If Ms Macpherson has copywrited her moniker under intellectual property laws she could in theory start legal proceedings-but she would pay out a great deal more than she would potentially make from the case," he said.

"It simply would not be worth it," he added.

who do you guys think deserves to be called "the body"?

"i own Mailbu."

Have you ever seen a more fine specimen of the human form before? Have you ever seen any man look as smoulderingly irresistible as this?

Thought not. I am the body.

You have a 'Cult Of Ray' head! Which is a compliment, I assure you.

And yes, the shirt is cool but there is annoying stain that you cant see on the photograph. I got it off ebay from a seller who made no mention of such stain. I usually just wear it in bed.

Your sig: I'm in the middle of editing the macaca entry on wikipedia. Macaca is funny.

Due to my present condition and predicaments of being a crippled as a result of the fatal accident that I had, I am not able to carry out this contract because I can only walk on a wheel chair.

Elle is 'the body' and always will be. She was called that first, right?

What does Jesse Ventura think about this?

I'd be more than happy to see Elle and Heidi fighting. In mud. Or baby oil.

Macpherson could be "bodywoman" and Klum could be "bodygirl"

It's sad when pretty people fight each other like that.
Have you ever seen two ugly people fighting? No.
Thought so.

Elle. That was my instinct and having done an intensive google search I've seen nothing to change my mind. Perhaps we need pictures to help the more google naive?
