Posted - 08/17/2006 : 14:33:08 formerly married pairing of bloke (Sam Coomes) from Heatmiser (Elliott Smith's old band) and drummer from Sleater-Kinney (Janet Weiss). Just bought Hot Shit and it's fantastic. Drunken Tears.....I could play it all day. Somehow I think Brian would like them.
Anyone else like them? What should I buy next?

Alt-rock legends collaborate Stephen Malkmus unveils new band member Sleater-Kinney's Janet Weiss has joined Stephen Malkmus's band The Jicks.
The drummer performed with ex-Pavement frontman Malkmus and The Jicks at Portland, Oregon's annual 'Affair At The Jupiter Hotel' art fair on Friday (September 29), according to The Portland Mercury.
Malkmus' UK label, Domino, confirmed to NME.COM that the drummer is playing with The Jicks, but whether her involvement is permanent or not is as yet unclear.
Weiss has previously performed with Malkmus at a London gig in 2003. From 1997 she drummed with Sleater-Kinney until the alt-rock trio who announced an indefinite hiatus in June this year.
The Jicks' original drummer John Moen is now a full-time member of The Decemberists, who recently released their first album for major label Capitol, 'The Crane Wife'.
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

Posted - 08/18/2006 : 09:25:17 Thanks Holiday Son, that is great.
One of the first things I thought when I heard them was 'Brian will like this' so I'm going to be mighty disappointed when you hate them with a passion.

Due to my present condition and predicaments of being a crippled as a result of the fatal accident that I had, I am not able to carry out this contract because I can only walk on a wheel chair. |
