I meant to post this before (I believe I told Hammerhands I would), but they've just announced the full lineup, so hey it's more efficient this way. I can come up with plenty of good excuses for procrastination. maybe I should start an advice thread for that...

ok, so the label that brought us great bands like The Jesus Lizard, Scratch Acid, Rodan, Shipping News, etc. is having a 3 day, 25+ band bash from Sept 8 - 10, [edit: in Chicago].

the lineup:

Friday, September 8:
!!!
Girls Against Boys
The Shipping News
Supersystem
Ted Leo + Pharmacists

Saturday, September 9:
Big Black (a couple of songs)
Didjits
The Ex
Killdozer
Jon & Kat
PW Long
Man ... Or Astroman?
Negative Approach
The New Year
Pegboy
Tim Midgett and Andy Cohen
Sally Timms
Scratch Acid
Shellac
Uzeda

Sunday, September 10:
Arcwelder
The Black Heart Procession
Brick Layer Cake
Calexico
Cash Audio
CocoRosie
Enon
The Monorchid
Pinback
Quasi
Seam
Tara Jane ONeil
Three Mile Pilot

Scratch Acid reuniting for this was the kicker for me. I know there are some fans of quite a few of these bands that hang out here.

This block party is being held outdoors in the sidelot of the Hideout. Tey're still selling single-day or 3 day passes, but I'mnot sure what the capacity is. If you're interested there's more info here:

http://www.tgrec.com

3-day passes - $35
offering a limited number of single-day tickets that go on sale Friday, August 18. Individual day passes will be available for $15 through Ticketweb. If the block party is not sold out in advance, 3-day passes will be available at the gate on Friday for $45, and single day tickets will be sold at the gate each day for $20.

Hopefully we'll see/meet some o youz there. We're driving from Columbus. We love a road trip, and it takes just as long to go through security at the airport anyway, especially now...

BLT - your live shows history has always blown me away. At least I got to see Jesus Lizard in the good years. I never ever thought I'd get to see Scratch Acid, so I'm pretty damn pleased.

I'm startin to get ants in my pants about this show. Anyone else goin??

That's a pretty impressive line-up, and for $35? Bargain of the millenium, so far.

Hail to the king, baby!

Wowee. Some of my fave bands (most of whom I'm proud to say I've already seen). Saturday's definitely the day (though I love GVSB too). But where's Tesco??? And the Necros? Guess you can't have everything.
