In case you hadn't seen it we're compiling pieces of literature by forum members for the ebook end of miles. This is an "on the road" themed body of work by people here at the forum. Whilst the deadline has passed already for submissions I will be a few days in sorting out the graphics and the formatting for the project so a slight grace period is available. I thought, for those of you who didn't want to commit to a large piece, that while this process is going on I might try a more general project.

We had a similar thread we had some time ago. Based on the claim that Ernest Hemmingway considered the best story he ever wrote to be this:

For sale: baby shoes, never used.

at exactly six words. I'm hoping that within the road trip/on the road theme some of you might have a go at penning a SIX WORD STORY, no more no less and I'll add them in under the six word story project with authors name next to it if you so choose.

Thanks and good luck! If you don't want it in the book, state so clearly please. To start:

Streaks of bright vivid colours, roadkill.

I was actually going to add a little note saying the hyphen can be removed if people start to lose sleep over it. I don't really agree that it becomes one word though, more like...two words and a hyphen or something...
mr.biscuitdoughhead Posted - 07/07/2006 : 10:02:40
Actually, that's only 5 words because you hyphenated lemon-scented.

Last words of a dying atheist.

I thought that was a pretty good one, too bad it can't qualify. Here's one that can...

The lemon-scented road to redemption.
