Now that's comedy.
I'm perfectly happy with my name (Cohen, for Leonard Cohen), but I think I would have hated the other name my parents considered for me -- Levi. And like GypsyDeath, I have no middle name, though I don't have middle-name envy like she seems to. Still, if I had to choose a new name, or if I had to have a middle name, I would go with James. I've always loved that name, and it's the English version of my oldest son's name, Seamus.
There's a perfect explanation for the shit that I've been in. As soon as I find out, I'll let you know. |

Posted - 08/07/2007 : 00:32:54 Well since tisasawath dug out this thread, I might as well post into it. Turns out my kids have 2 first names and 3 last names... They're gonna hate us when they'll learn to write their names at school. My little girl's initials are VLVLV. I find this cool.

Posted - 09/28/2006 : 07:32:06 I would LOVE to have named myself. Id at least like a middle name. Ive changed my surname enough - but i'd go for something like;
Polly Ramona De Wilde
Or Molly - not sure.
Mostly id love ot have been a boy. Id call myself Damian Nathanial Elliott ____________
I agree with who ever it was who said they dont trust people with two first names. Its just bloody greedy. ESPECIALLY if they have a middle name too.

My brother knows a guy who apparently, at the age of 14, talked his mother into signing off on getting his name legally changed to "Rasta Tha Black Disasta."
That's nothing, I've met a guy who changed his name to Ganglion ROM Dis-Psyche. Pretty slick eh?

Posted - 09/27/2006 : 15:01:47 My given name is Jeffrey Francis Armstrong. As a youngster, I was so ashamed of the name Francis, that I lied and told teachers and friends that I had no middle name. That didn't last long, as the teachers had my full name on file. I got over it when I learned that Francis was the middle name of my father, grandfather and godfather. At this point in life, I wouldn't change any part of it.

There was a guy that changed his name to Playstation 2?

Well, except my real surname. Just a big fan of the guy. Booker, I mean. Plus, the 2 middle names thing is pretty neat.

Awwww, I totally missed that post. I picked Diego because otherwise it would've been Juan or some other silent J name... Don't forget Annabelle there Mike. :)
My Mike has a cousin who just got married and had a baby. Her new last name is Gordon. She name the kid Sonny Wyatt Flash Gordon. No word of a lie.

Posted - 09/26/2006 : 16:14:03 When my great grandfather was born, his parents wanted to give him the opportunity to name himself. So for the first 18 years of his life, he was know by the same name as his father, except he has the "junior" version. The idea was that when he reached 18 he would name himself. On his eighteenth, the name he chose was Warren Teagarden. Growing up, I heard tons of family stories about Warren Teagarden, but the thing about naming himself is what always stuck with me. It's just so symbolic, naming yourself. You're really stating who you are to the world in a really weird way. Anyways, when I was a kid it always struck me as really funny that someone who could name themselves would intentionally name themselves something so very dorky as "Warren Teagarden." Anyways, when I started singing and recording and such I took the stagename Warren Teagarden as a little homage to my apparently strange great-great-grandparents. It's nice to know I come from a long line of weirdos.
