Posted - 06/02/2006 : 02:11:01 Yesterday I watched Grosse Pointe Blank, starring John Cusack. Started off slowly but it was eventually loads of fun. It has a killer soundtrack too, unfortunately it seems Monkey Gone To Heaven is featured in the movie but I didn't notice, must've been during the 5 minutes I missed while doing the dishes. And the French translation was so-so, I'll have to watch it again in proper conditions. I just checked the movie page on imdb.com and one reviewer writes "On the bad side most of the music was awful and some of the swearing was out of character." WTF? OK, the G'n'R track was a bit too much but all the Strummer songs made up for it.

Posted - 06/03/2006 : 20:32:13 Definitely a worthwhile movie. That's the first place I ever heard a Pixies' song somewhere other than my cassette or cd player.

Posted - 06/02/2006 : 07:57:48 Yeah, I really enjoy this movie, it is, as we all seem to agree, a lot of fun. John Cusack is perfect for the part.

Posted - 06/02/2006 : 05:47:56 Yeah, it's a good, fun movie. Monkey is played not too long into the film, in a bit where Cusack is talking on the phone, and looking through his rifle sight, I think. I haven't watched it in a long time. Joe Strummer coordinated the soundtrack, or something.
Actaully, just checking it out on IMDb, it has Frank listed for Monkey, not Pixies!!

Posted - 06/02/2006 : 02:21:10 MGTH was on the radio show that Minnie Driver has, if I remember rightly - you hear it played over the speakers outside the studio.
I like the film, plus it reinforces my opinion: never trust a Frenchman.
