True, but as stupid as the list is in general, it's probably good that he's separating the artists from the art.

On the other hand, what do Latin and Samuel Taylor Coleridge have to do with conservatism?

I find it damn hilarious that if it happens that the song was written to be condemning a certain point of view...people still semm to take it the wrong way. I'm pretty sure the Beach boys weren't all virgins until marriage.

Well, apparently, if you're against the Cold War you're a conservative. And if you write a rock song that contains the words "abortion", "Russia" or "wedding", whatever your opinions are about it, that's conservative rock.

Yes, most of the list seems more than lame. I find it hard to believe anything involving Ray Davies or Chrissie Hynde can legitimately be described as conservative, but then I generally don't pay much attention to lyrics. Probably wouldn't even with Frank were it not for how often they come up on the forum. Anti-tax, OK. When I first heard of this list I thought it should consist of one track: Rush's "The Trees". But there are conservatives who love their rock. National Review even includes writers who praise Springsteen, though usually for his earliest, less political stuff.
