Casino Royale will be in cinemas in November.
They're ment to be aiming for a movie that's closer to the book than Dr. No was. Making it darker and more adult. Making Bond a cold blooded bastard.
Some say Daniel Craig isn't suitable for the roll,
some say Quentin Tarantino should have directed it,
some say they should just stop making Bond movies.
Whadayou think?

(spoilers)

he'll wear a nice suit, kill lots of brown people and there'll be plenty of loving shots of electronic hardware given they always release them in time for the fiscal year's come-shot, i.e. Christmas.

Chris Cornell doing Bond works. The last time EON had a male singer was, I think, The Living Daylights, with A-HA, which was the first Timothy Dalton Bond. Dalton's 007 was grittier than those previous and much closer to the books, which is exactly what we're being promised with Craig. Dalton's definiately may favorite actor in the role so far, and if Craig can get the same vibe going, then it could be cool.

Plus I vote Billy Corgan for Bond 22's song.

I can't believe I didn't laugh at a floop joke.

The end is nigh.

Oh floop, they can't ALL be winners. Even Ted Williams struck out from time to time (yes, that's a baseball reference. It's your national pastime, after all). Now weigh in on this Bond business.

Sorry I meant Live And Let Die. I was just casting my vote for the greatest Bond movie of all time.

Anyway, I meant why don't they just let the Bond franchise die? They're boring now.

I love Daniel Craig, but, like the prospect of Nicholas Cage doing Superman (it was a possibility there, for a moment) I hold my reservations for him playing James Bond. It should be interesting.

Tanantino doing a bond film would be interesting, no doubt.

From what i've read, the studios are so impressed with Daniel Craig that they already want him to do a sequel, continuing the story of Casino Royale. No chance of Tarantino doing that one either i'd say. He got pissed of when he was refused the gig so he's gone sour on it.

James Bond is a sadistic prick. Craig looks pretty mean in that photo. He seems like a good choice to me.

Yeah, he doesn't strike me as a bond at all, but I'll reserve opinion until I see the movie. Pierce was a perfect bond, second only to Connery, too bad he came in the wrong era.

It's good, at least, that they're aware they have taken a lot of what made Bond cool away and strayed from Fleming, but whether that becomes true or not, I'm not sure. I have a feeling they WILL try to take it in a different direction, but I wouldn't go all in on it being more true to classic Bond. More likely, it'll just be less like recent Bond.

In any case, I'll be there opening night.

Every new Bond film (since I can remember) has promised to be a return to form, or to be closer to the book, or more accurate to Fleming's vision of Bond. Every new film has failed in that regard, though I did enjoy the Brosnan films (each one less the previous, ending in the mess that the last film was). I have hopes for Daniel Craig and the new series, and I'd love Tarantino to direct (like him or hate him, he can direct a movie with style, in a very particular style), but I'm won't be surprised if this is just another blockbuster action "popcorn" movie with the Bond theme.

He looks more like Frank Sinatra than Bond. I like the whole darker bond but when did he become a bounty hunter?
