How do you like your socks?

For sneakers I like white sport socks, and for work I only wear black or grey one. I like them when they are between the calf and ankle. I don't feel comfortable with long ones, except when it's very cold.
I hate when people wear funny and colorful socks or even worse, white socks with black leather shoes.

A good story about boys being banned from school for wrong color socks :url]http://www.stockportexpress.co.uk/news/s/22/22078_banned_from_class_for_wrong_colour_socks.html[/url]

I dunno, it has a certain socks appeal.

Has anyone said 'sock it to me' yet? Consider it said.

I was going to buy some dress socks at an admittedly upscale store in Calgary. And then, I saw the price for a few gray stripes. $40. For one pair. Maybe I'm cheap, but I'll stick to my non-brand name regulation black dress socks, thanks. :)

Wow, remig, quite a successful topic you've got here...

I have to confess I wear socks too, but who cares about my socks?

There are tons of interesting facts about other people's socks:

Did you know the largest sock in the world is thirty four inches long and twenty five inches in diameter?
It belonged to the Cornish Giant Grover Gransmithe who at age 16 was already fourteen feet tall.
One sock of his would provide pairs for six normally sized men.
Hand knitted by his mother out of domestic wool which she carded and spun herself as keeping Grover attired was an expensive undertaking.
It is a single as Gransmithe was unable to keep a matching pair together even though they were big enough to use as duffel bags.
In later years, when he became world famous as a circus attraction, his socks were supplied gratis by a French Fashion House which bragged it took twenty five thousand silk worms to make a pair.

The smallest sock in the world is less than an inch long.
These socks were made for Tsar Nicholas the 2nd of Russia's pet white mice to see them through Moscow's brutal winters.
The art of micro knitting died with Olenka Lanskova, sock maker to the Romanov dynasty, who was assassinated in her work room by an enraged peasant who shouted "If the people don't have shoes, the Tsar's mice shan't have socks."

why would you throw a sock in the trash when you could make a sock puppet out of it?

I'll wear some socks with holes in if they're not too noticeable. But only if the sock has sentimental value.

I don't know why I wore white socks for so long. For the last couple years, unless I'm wearing shorts ( and when I wear shorts, I wear those tiny white socks that give me that sexy I'm-not-wearing-wearing-socks look ) I wear black socks.

They're more comfortable, they always look clean, and you can wear them with almost anything. Like if you're wearing jeans around the house and then you have to go out somewhere right away and you throw on some khalis, you're all set.

The other thing: I don't know how people can wear socks with holes- that would make me crazy- the second a sock gets a hole, it's in the trash.

I just purchased six pairs of comfy, strechy, black cotton socks. I love the feeling of wearing new socks for the first time!

As long as they don't have holes in them I'm not too bothered but usually black ones.

I've got dress socks from Norway that I was given from a friend that are black with a red heel and say Norway and have a moose on the calf part. I wear them when I want to be silly. Conversation pieces.

I hate those socks with little golfers, fly-fishers or hunters stitched into them.
People who wear those are often c****
