Posted - 04/23/2006 : 08:59:12 my banking is all free cause i work for a really big company so all the banks give us free accounts casue if they don't we'll probly buy them out.. tho, you people in the UK will be going "but who pays for banking anyways?" well us down under do. there's a reason why english banks don't charge account fees - it's cause they never do any work. i used to get so frustrated with the banking system over there. sure, it's nice that it's free, but you have to allow atleast 2 weeks to actually get anything done. i must idmit, the UK banking vs AUS & NZ banking system is one good example of where user-pays works.
all i can say, thank god for polio! brian |

Posted - 04/23/2006 : 05:49:18 I use Key Bank, but I would recommend a good credit union over a large commercial chain. Smaller, local banks usually have better deals like free checking accounts or no minimum balance requirements.

Posted - 04/21/2006 : 18:05:34 I've had awful trouble with banks here, Lloyds and natwest were both terrible so I switched to the co-operative bank which is way more user friendly and is ethically led. Plus I got me a nice purple pvc-free debit card!

Is there a Commerce Bank by you? I've heard they're the best.
