I just read an article about registering to vote, saying it helps you to be a part of society because your vote is your voice being heard by government. It is a way of demonstrating that you are equal and that you do count. It is your way to get things changed. What do you think?

I doubt you'll encounter too much argument over this. Democracy isn't a perfect system, but it's important to participate in it if you have the chance. I do think we Americans need to get rid of the electoral college, though. It's a totally obsolete concept that means it's possible your vote won't even count.
