Here's a cheery topic...

I just went to my first funeral that was open casket. It was of a very distant relative that I never met but was very close friends with my Grandma.

It was pretty creepy I sat really far back and kept waiting for her to blink or something.

I used to think I'd go closed casket, but now I am thinking more that cremation is the way to go. That's the way my closer family members have chosen or have done.

Anyway, so would you go open, closed or cremation?

PS-Sounds very appropriate for our forum crush! :)

C, I didn't get too close I was too creeped out. I have seen other dead bodies b/c of crimes but it's different when you know going in you're going to see a dead body vs. just being suprised.

This was southren so I do think there is a regional difference like you said kfs ;)

I think they did that with Gene Roddenberry's ashes.

I want to be propped against a big white canvas and then have a huge weight dropped on my dead self so I smoosh some modern art all over the place and can be remembered by my gradually darkening splatter painting.

How about a Viking burial?

I don't really care much what happens to me after I die. I mean, I won't be around for it, right? I guess I'll let the living decide.

I'm 31 years old and I've been to many funerals. I can only think of
one that was closed and 2 cremations. The rest were open. I thought
that was normal! I guess it depends on where you live (I'm from the south), the religion, or cause of death (bad accidents=closed).

Nope. Not I. Kind of creepy, I think.

I passed a cow and the cow was brown. My pyjamas clung to me like a shroud! Like a shroud!

Something involving fire and catapults.

I never really understood open casket funerals. A bit morbid in my opinion. I guess it helps with closure for some but why would you want your last memory of someone to be lying in a freakin coffin?
