I was schooled on that by a Canadian in a bar one night. In fact, I've spent a few nights in bars where I've ended up talking to Canadians. They are better at drinking, I think. Y'all aren't allowed in at www.thebar.com though. Though... security ain't all that tight. ;) |

Ha. I was in South America last year and came across a kool-aide like drink mix that advertised itself "Sabor a tuna!" (Tuna-flavored!)
I like Bloody Mary's, but not with Clamato. I like these better than Bloody Mary's, for the serious only:
  Yucatan-Style Sangrita
Ingredients a la thebar.com • 1.5 oz. Don Julio Añejo Tequila • 1 28 oz. can of tomatoes • 1 cup orange juice • .03 cup lime juice • 1 slice white onion • 1 seeded green chile • 1 tsp. sugar • .25 tsp. hot pepper sauce • 1 wedge lime ................................................................................ Preparation • Add tomatoes, orange juice, lime juice, white onion, green chile, sugar, and hot pepper sauce in a blender • Blend until smooth and pour enough to fill a tequila shot glass • Add Don Julio Añejo Tequila to another tequila shot glass • Garnish with lime wedge

I could go for about half of those. I'm not a guy and I'm not a spammer, I'm a lady trying to get some ideas for drinks to learn bartending, but I also wanted to contribute something so I listed my favorite site, thebar.com. Here's one of my faves off there:
  Angus Collins
Ingredients • 1.5 oz. scotch • 2 oz. sour mix • 1 oz. soda • .5 oz. orange juice • 1 cherry • 1 twist lemon ................................................................................ Preparation • Add scotch, sour mix, soda, orange juice • Stir and serve over crushed ice • Garnish with cherry and lemon twist

Posted - 01/18/2006 : 10:58:16 Just before christmas I was hankering for a newcastle brown ale and the hidden pub I was in didn't sell it. The barmaid suggested I try half lager half bitter. I said that sounded odd and she said she'd give me some to try, "some" was half a pint. It was quite nice and actually was slightly like newcastle brown ale so I got a pint plus my free half pint.
The moral is flirting with the barstaff always pays. Oh, no, the moral is that half bitter half lager is ok tasting. |
