Does anyone know what this piece is called and who it's by? It's pretty well-known, but the name totally escapes me..
Sorry it's only a sample, best I could do.

Posted - 01/18/2006 : 17:56:53 I like it sounded familar, to me too. It sounded sort of like Monk or M. Davis. But I did research and he was way before them. So I ordered a copy to check out. Thanks! |

"What a shit birthday. Maybe I should use BLT's 'piece' to end it all!"
I just remembered, there's some dance song that uses that music in it!!

I think it's been used on a good few adverts, including I think, one with a sad clown because he didn't get any birthday cards. Then he's happy because the good ol' Royal Mail finally arrived with his post at like 1 IN THE AFTERNOON if they're anything like my local service.

Yup, but I soon realised they were pulling my leg, shan't go into it, and someone came up with the right answer, which is Gymnopedie No.1 by Eric Satie, a fine, fine piece of music. I recommend a download, Carl

Posted - 01/17/2006 : 06:44:31 Wait a minute, are you sure? I've just downloaded numerous different performances of Claire De Lune and not one contains the part I posted...
edit: just been told the sample is from "Gymnopedie" by Eric Satie. Score nadda, Mr Cheese Man.
