I think I may have done this ages ago maybe, probably even before the last archive, it was that long ago (ahem).
Who would you say is the coolest person alive right now?
Until recently I would've said Johnny Cash, but for fairly obvious reasons he's out of the running, so my money's on Clint Eastwood.
Any thoughts?

someone told me that Dick Dale once wrote a song for the Space Mountain ride at Disneyland, which he composed specifically for the ride, like a soundtrack. apparently they used it for a while but then people complained that it was too "intense"..
i heard it was awesome.

probably the same reason frank is swoon-worthy - he's a genius. plus he has that swarthy, "i'll murder any man that looks at you and then write a really graphic song about it" thing going on. and he named his son jethro.

Doog, I think Steven Malkmus is a contender for the coolest person alive, actually. So you're not alone.
How 'bout Milo Aukerman from the Descendents, though? He wrote "Hope", "My World", "Shattered Milo", and still took the time and initiative to earn a phD in biochemistry. |
