Posted - 01/09/2006 : 09:43:06 OK let me start: Kylie Minogue.
There are probably much more beautiful/talented female artists but I've never seen such a match between a lolita-wantabee-idol-like physical appearance and pure bubble-gum superficial and catchy pop tunes. It seems that her body and her music were created for each other.

Posted - 01/11/2006 : 20:07:25 There are certain people that I respect so much I can't have any sexual feelings. FB is among the ranks of MLK, some cool teachers I had, and just people I really look up to. I guess other musicians that fit into this category would be Bono, Sting, Bob Marley or David Bowie.(I think I got into trouble with this before-- but I can't be sexually attracted I really look up to or respect what they do. It's a very high complement in my book. I guess that's kinda weird.
I guess it's because if I think what they do is so cool and they're so gifted in that way, I just ignore the rest including the sexual aspects.
I'm a weird cat in that way.
Now that I thought about it more. I think it goes back to intimacy. I think I need to feel emotional intimacy before I can feel sexual attraction. I have that intimacy, so I am not really looking for it. As a result, I am not really looking at people sexually. So hopefully that makes sense too. |

Say what?!
Daisy, you sat down on a couch with the man and talked. Tell me it wasn't a special kinda thrill.

No it does not.

So you like him JUST BECAUSE he's sexy? It's not just a bonus added to his great music?

Posted - 01/11/2006 : 11:52:09 I think it tends to be more of the opposite for me, which is to say that, if I like a person's voice or other musical talents, I'm often more likely to find them more physically attractive than I otherwise might (and this goes for both male and female artists). That's not always the case, but it often is.

Agreed about Ms. Persson. I caught them in 2004 when they toured with Liz Phair and Nina looked great in simple top and faded jeans. I was also enjoyed their show, which rocked well, managing to omit "Love Fool", which gives an incomplete image of the band. I went in with little preconception and left impressed.
Liz is another sexy artist, though I was completely on board with her music before I had any idea how she presents herself.
Their music is quite good despite being very commercial.

Posted - 01/10/2006 : 06:51:23 Pas de problem, monsieur. As for music I like because the singer is sexy, I have to agree with none... at least not as a sole reason. However, I do like, say, Goldfrapp because her voice is sexy (and she also happens to be fairly easy on the old eye) whereas if it was some dude I probably wouldn't listen. A great part of Metric's appeal is also Emily Haines, but the music isn't shit to begin with... unlike, say, almost any pop star out there.

The singer was named Buick Prentice and she basically wore this see through, sheer black thing with nothing else but her bra and her panties. It was mesmerizing.
