Posted - 01/06/2006 : 05:08:40 When Reagan was shot I was living in Barcelona and more than one person initially assumed that his African-American security dude was the shooter. Remember in the videotape how his Secret Service guys lunge for him (to cover his body with their own)? Then the Pope got shot and everybody freaked right out, being Catholic and all. Anyway...

Posted - 01/05/2006 : 22:48:01 You must be an old man because I was in 7th grade when Reagan was shot. I remember arguing that the President being shot shouldn't be a bigger deal than anyone else being shot. Pretty naive. |

Posted - 01/05/2006 : 22:37:58 That reminds me of learning that Reagan had been shot. I was living in an Austin student co-op at the time, barely awake and drowsily heard from the hallway "Good! I hope they got Bush too!" I knew immediately that something had happened to the president. Wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now. |
