Posted - 12/29/2005 : 12:05:11 8) Trains in Japan are often over crowded, which can lead to male passengers groping female passengers. Japanese police now have a new weapon: forensic evidence. According to the Associated Press, “Japanese police are using forensic analysis in hunting down gropers on crowded trains by matching tiny fabric fibers from the suspect’s palm with the victim’s clothes. The technique used by Osaka Police in western Japan helped nab 16 suspects in the first ten months of this year, up from four cases proved the whole of last year, said Hirotsugu Sanuki of the Osaka Police’s Science Research Institute.” In addition to stepped-up police activity, rail service providers in Japan have introduced “women only” cars.

Posted - 12/26/2005 : 13:52:27 I've heard about this before, and wasn't sure whether it was true or not. I guess it's becoming an urban legend.

Posted - 12/23/2005 : 15:12:13 The google adverts and poorly written article gave it away to me.
By the way, the little bit at the top wasn't there when I looked at it either. It's there now though.

Posted - 12/23/2005 : 14:18:41 I swear it wasn't, Yann. Perhaps those in Regina have somehow tampered with what is shown here in Saskatoon?
And yes, the highly suspicious URL should have given it away had I only looked at it. So I'm an idiot, I admit it. And, further, the story itself should've given it away, in retrospect, but I was too fascinated with the idea of a bunch of people fighting a lion and losing to really consider the plausibility of the story itself.
So, in conclusion, I'm going home to enroll in media studies 101 and you can all rest easy knowing that the Cambodian Fighting Team (tm)'s honour is intact.

Heh, wasn't there before.
Objection, your honor. It was there when I read this topic, just after KoK posted it. In fact I thought KoK knew this article was a fake, that's why I didn't reply.

I contend that the midgets would have won.

Posted - 12/23/2005 : 08:41:54 Wow, that is impressive. Taking on 42 people and winning. Yikes! I would've guessed that five people would stand about a 50% chance of winning, ten people would be relatively assured, though in both cases with heavy losses. Guess the Vegas boys would've loved me.
Of course, it's too bad 28 people died, but I don't really have much sympathy because: a) They brought in the lion to fight/kill. b) They willingly stepped into the ring against it.
