There isn't a Nobel Prize for Checkers, nor should there be.

Or maybe she'll win the Nobel Prize for Checkers!

Poor tre. She works so hard in life, yet life brings her down.

don't worry, tre. Maybe someday 40 years from now you'll be spending your Christmas playing checkers with someone with whom you are very close. Or better yet, maybe someday you'll win the nobel prize.

Don't make me send in the angry strawberries Carl.

I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

LIAR!

Floop, for Christmas I would like Carl to wake up and smell the coffee (that Michelle Rodriguez did NOT make for him).

It may be time to bust out the fb.net mistletoe!

College Station. I lived there from 5th grade until I left for college. You're in Dallas?

I'll be having my first family Christmas in 7 years. Fly into Cape Town on Christmas eve. It's all going to be quite strange.

Lead me not into temptation; I can find the way myself.
darwin Posted - 11/22/2005 : 11:53:56
Look who's grumpy? Just in time for the holidays. Have I ever told you about how much I love the holidays?

We're staying home for Christmas for the first ever as our little family. And then off to Texas for about 5 days so the kids can see their cousins and my folks.
starmekitten Posted - 11/22/2005 : 09:12:08
If by "taking" you mean staying, and if by "any long christmas vacations" you mean in a hobbit hole with barely any heating no company no bed a broken TV and a microwave turkey dinner for one, and by "over the holidays" you mean for the rest of my life.

Then yes, yes I am.

I'm taking the rest of this week off and then almost 2 weeks at Christmas time to watch my son while he is out of school. We are going on a studio tour at the famous (yeah right) Las Colinas Film Studios in about 2 hours. Possibly touring the Dublin, TX Dr. Pepper bottling factory tomorrow where they still use actual sugar instead of corn sweetener to make the stuff.

Exactly! Last year was great as well because it was the first time in years and years that it actually snowed on Christmas Day.

Carl Posted - 11/22/2005 : 04:48:20
Indeed-I was in Spain for Christmas a couple of years ago, but you kind of have to be home around the fire at Christmas! Preferably with a glass of brandy and Foster And Allen's Christmas Hits! ;D

I can walk into a field beside a motorway that has a heavy frost on it. I'd never be anywhere except at home for Christmas, I always have a great time with my family.

so you're saying you can't just walk out your porch, step into your snowshoes, crank up frank and walk onto a frozen field in the middle of nowhere?

i'm not saying this to rub it in or anything, but we're having an exceptionally warm winter.

it's kind of bizarre sitting outside at a coffee shop that is playing Christmas music and you're scorching in the heat
kathryn Posted - 11/21/2005 : 15:34:44
broadband, baby.

also: good supplies of red wine, avocados, marijuana and snow (by which i do mean snow and not 1980s-style snow).

will it be over 20 below F in santa monica over christmas?

floop Posted - 11/21/2005 : 15:32:24

kathryn Posted - 11/21/2005 : 15:25:38
Trying to revived the fb.net house/apartment-swap idea, floop?

Actually, I was planning on taking my long Christmas vacation in May. There won't be as much traffic that way.
