Songs involving the theme of photography, looking at photos, taking photos, etc.

BEST - Turning Japanese by the Vapors - Great new wave power pop song that never fails to get me bouncing...

WORST - that new single by Nickelback - a turgid piece of crap that is spiritual nails upon the chalkboard of my soul. And I'm Canadian. (it is however the inspiration for this thread so if it's been done before, blame Nickelback becuase they suck.)

your choices?

Pyromania was fantastic when it came. I checked out my old vinyl copy this summer. A little dramatic perhaps - but photograph is still a good song. And die hard the hunter. And foolin.
And centerfold is good.

Also like Camper's cover of Ringo's "Photograph".

I'll have to agree with Chip Away Boy here, as far as the best goes.

Good:

Camera-REM. Written for a friend (of Stipe, I think), who died.

Grant Lee Buffalo's wonderous Stars N' Stripes has the line 'Got you on the handycam, fits in my hand....'

"Join the Honeycult!"

The Young Fresh Fellows do a really cool cover of the Kinks' "Picture Book."

Also, Sloan's song "The Lines You Amend" makes a reference to the Ringo song, so I guess that's one degree of separation from the topic, or something like that.

The Kinks - Picture Book & People Take Pictures Of Each Other
Pixies - Motorway To Roswell ("and photographs in faaaa-iles"...)

are the only ones that come to mind right now. And nothing that would qualify as "worst".
