While the server issues are being resolved, let us recall what we miss about each of the forumers who can't log on.
I miss Denis' love of REM, all his rhapsodizing posts and threads expressing his love of that great band.
I miss Surfer's presence, if only so that I am not the only crazy woman on this board.
Am I the only one who misses Carl's smiley faces?

Not sure, he was fooling around with some stuff - been doing more stand up comedy stuff i believe. Looks like he has been travelling so doubt he is doing anything specific with a band - but he is always recording.

Sorry I offended you, Brian. Not everyone with a long leather jacket, slick black hair, a scar down their face, a limp and a monocle who interrogates suspects by pacing around the room with his hands behind his back is a mod. Some of them are rockers.
I just realised the guy in my sig (Brazil's Dr. Chapman) looks a but like that....

I take real offense to this. Just because a guy has a penchant for khaki and likes to goose step around his place with his dog marching behind him and happens to like small, shaped mustaches, that does not make him a member of the gestapo. It just means he has style.

I miss all the jokes we used to make about the swimmer. They were played at the time, but now I somehow miss them.
I know a lot of the people I mentioned didn't get along with each other - I miss it all. The only problem is that there are a lot of forum members whose names look familiar but whose posts are ultimately unremembered by me
I'm kind of still here - browse the forum once a month kind of thing. your list is similar to what mine would be, Icecream, and i agree withthe further sentiments, but i think i miss these people becasue i knew the interpersonal relaitonships going on between the lines - the old running 'in' jokes and stuff like that, which now because i wasnt on the forum for a while and now only to lurk, i have lost touch, which i think is inevitable on any forum, and inevitable you would pine for the 'old' days.
However i think this forum is forever evolving and it seems really lively at the moment.
