Posted - 02/12/2006 : 10:12:05 Yeah, well that's what I heard on SY forums I guess, maybe celebrating 15 years of those shows would be a great opportunity to release it on DVD, but really I don't know if it will be this year because 2006 seems a pretty busy year for the youth (new album, new reissues of old albums, SYR, tours, etc) |

Posted - 02/12/2006 : 07:21:42 Wow, Soren, thanks for that. Thurston is hilarious. I thought it was gonna be MCA from Beastie Boys giving a gift!!
Levitated, you've heard about a DVD release?

haven't got it either. I'm just waiting for 1991: The Year Punk Broke DVD, it would be awesome if it has a performance by Black Francis.
can you believe there's no action whatsoever of the man?
Yeah...even T. Moore mentions him but no performance of The Man, I was kinda dissapointed about that, I hope he is considered on the DVD release(rumors says that it will be 2 DVD's) wow..Planet of Sound played by Black Francis solo would rock!! |

Yeah, it'd be great if that was released on DVD with footage of Black!
My mate has the Goo reissue now, haven't heard it.
I posted this in another thread recently, it's quiet a funny video:

There are 14 albums, not counting the whole SYR series, the soundtracks (made in usa, demonlover, etc), compilations (sonic death, screaming fields of sonic love) and the Ciccone Youth project (the whitey album)
Cripes! I've got a way to go yet then.

Posted - 02/11/2006 : 04:25:58 Goo and Dirty are my two favorite SY albums. The reason being, I think they are the most accessible. They came out during the whole "alternative" or "grunge" phase and I think it was their way of trying to reach a wider audience. (or the record company) Hell, they even got Butch Vig! When that didn't work, it seems like they went back to their old ways. Am I wrong on this?

Goo is my fave SY album from the 90's along with Jet Set. It's so sad that they will play only in Brazil on November. Happened the same with The Pixies last year. :( |

Posted - 09/30/2005 : 13:19:48 it's highly similar to the re-issue of "Dirty" that came out a year or two back.
Two CDs, remastered (I believe), and a slew of bonus tracks/b-sides...and demos for the album. Haven't heard the new Goo (or looked at the track listing) but on Dirty it's instrumental versions of the album songs, or demos with ideas and experimentation. Good stuff for the die-hard fans...(I am included in this category) |
