Posted - 09/27/2005 : 03:02:14 llamadance, in nelson court. yeah i forgot to say, few of us went in to norwich city on sunday during the day, checked it out. sure we'll be going out there quite a bit, but there's so much freshers stuff on campus at the moment.
villainde, even worse, i passed around the student cookbook for everyone to have a look at ;D

Posted - 09/27/2005 : 00:41:18 so what's a snog anyway? I liked your story but I didn't like how you didn't wash your hands between taking a crap and meeting your flatmates.

Posted - 09/26/2005 : 23:00:06 Good luck PixieSteve. Sounds like you're settling in well.Which halls are you in?
I can still remember my first day at UEA, went down with my dad and granda, and my first overall impressions were: It's really flat. There were no pubs open to watch the Ryder cup (so we huddled round a radio). Everyone talked funny.
You've brought back all the hazy memories of the LCR.
It's a great campus, but remember to get out of it occasionally, it can get a bit claustrophobic after a while. There are some excellent pubs in Norwich.
That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

Posted - 09/26/2005 : 17:47:11 Well, I don't know you PS but my heart goes out to you. I especially enjoyed the details of what exactly prompts your lower GI functions. I wouldn't bring that up when your trying to get your snog on.
But seriously, have a good time at school. I'm sure you'll be snoggin' it up in no time. |

Posted - 09/26/2005 : 17:22:43 so
left slough at about 10 o clock saturday morning, after saying goodbye to my sister (the only one at home who wasn't coming on the journey (mum and dad)). arrived about 1 o clock. saturday arrivals were between 11 and 6 i think. my room's en-suite. the set up is like... 10 rooms per flat, kitchen + 2 bedrooms on ground floor, 4 on first floor, 4 on second. i'm on the ground floor, the other ground floorer is a 2nd year international student wehoe never see so that's pretty shit. but everyone else in my flat is pretty cool. first person i met was lizzy, in the kitchen, when i was moving all my stuff in. didn't really have time to have proper introductions when moving stuff in, i rather get that out the way first. went for a meal on campus with mum and dad... little walk around, check out the school of computer science... came back, said goodbyes. they pissed off. their anniversiary that day, so they stayed in norwich over night in a nice hotel. first thing i did after they left was grab the student cookbook my sister gave me the night before and sit on my EN SUIRE TOILET and do a shit. i need to read when doing a shit. i will literally be shitting my pants while i find something decent to read for the toilet, even if it's just a cd booklet or something. so anyway, after wiping my arse with the cheapo already provided toilet paper, i headed out to the kitchen where i met lizzy again and mark. by the end of the day i'd met 9 out of 10 flatmates. that night we went to the LCR club place for an icebreaker "retro active" night, with cheesy tunes, some fucking WEIRD FUCKING CRAZY DUDE who was swallowing shit and bringing it back up. like 10p coinds, 8 balls, and goldfish. then there was a michael jackson impersonator. god, i kinda felt sorry for him because he bviously really likes to believes he is the real deal on stages. but i was drunk so whatever.
no snogs on first night.
second night (sunday), met 10th housemate, probably the guy i have most in common with... likes samew kinda music (favourite band is rdiohead), played bass in a PROPER band (gigs an all) (just need a drummer!), went to reading this year like moi. was another icebreaker night in the LCR for the second half of students who arrived that day... this was much better, INDIE, ROCK (Metal) night. featured GREEN DAYZ, soon to be endorsed green day cover band. singer osunded exactly like real dude. dj played wave of mutilation ;)
no snogz. came back and chatted til about 4 with 3 or 4 flatmates
MONDAY
registered at 9am :'( almost puked, still drunk from the night before. you know when you swallow tablets sometimes (in this case paracetemol) it goes wrong and you retch.. horrible... but completely forgot about the horrors of hangovers when i went to the comedy night and greats like richard herring and mac lee were on. great stuff. went to some random peoples flat and had a mini party with 10 or so. got back about 10 minutes ago, straight on here! not tired enough for bed yet....
